ECTC makes 2022 Best Places to Work list


Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC) has made the 2022 list of Best Places to Work in Kentucky, announced by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management (KYSHRM) and ClearPath Mutual Insurance.

Dual Credit students have new scholarship opportunity


High School seniors with college credit could earn up to a $1,000 scholarship for the fall semester following high school graduation. That’s right, the lowest tuition in Kentucky could be even more affordable with the Dual Credit (DC) to Degree Scholarship.

ECTC offers sustainable, outdoor charging


ECTC students can now plug into renewable energy to charge their devices outdoors on the Elizabethtown campus. Just in time for spring, seven solar-powered charging tables have been installed near the Learning Resource Center, the James S. Owen Building and the Science Building, where students often study and enjoy the large green spaces on the 65-acre campus.

Live and In-person


The Ron Jones Jazz Quartet played a live 90-minute set for students, faculty, staff and visitors in ECTC's Morrison Gallery on March 24. Between songs from the accomplished musicians, Ron Jones discussed the music and its rich history.

Minority women authors celebrated


ECTC was honored to welcome Pastor Syvoskia Bray Pope, Elgina Smith, Asia Rivers and Dr. Julia Royston for Let's Talk with the Authors: Celebrating Minority Women Authors for International Women's History Month. Thanks to all who took part in this informative and inspirational panel discussion!

Criminal Justice program coordinator excited about new possibilities


Dr. Robert Douglas, criminal justice program coordinator, joined ECTC in April 2021. As his first-year anniversary approaches, he’s reflecting on lessons learned in the first year and looking forward to the future of the program.

Student sets sights on early childhood education


Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education (IECE) student Hailie Cannon is well on her way to a career enriching the lives of young children. She has always wanted to work with kids in some capacity but went through some discovery after graduating from Pleasure Ridge Park High School to find the right path, she said.

Alumni living his dream as math teacher


Ryan Ramsey graduated from ECTC in 2013 and stayed on campus to finish his bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University in 2015. Ryan started his career in education as a math interventionist at LaRue County Middle School and in 2020, he went on to work for Bluegrass Middle School as a math teacher. Ryan enjoys living out his dream as a math teacher and being a positive role model for his students.


“ECTC is a great place to further your education and I took advantage of the affordability of their courses. The environment there for the four years I attended was amazing and the professors/staff were always willing to help their students.”
