ECTC celebrated its 58th commencement Monday at the Elizabethtown campus. Approximately 300 graduates participated in the walk-thru ceremony and reception. Hear from some of the grads in this video!

TRIO SSS celebrates graduates


ECTC’s TRIO Student Support Services graduates were honored during a reception May 3. These graduates represent a variety of programs and campus organizations. Out of the program’s 185 students, 103 held a cumulative grade-point average above 3.0 at the end of the Fall 2022 semester.

ECTC VEX Robotics placed fourth in the world


ECTC students Devan Hennemuth and Tanner Blake joined the Northern Kentucky University VEX U team (NUKE) for the VEX Robotics World Championship on April 28 and 29 in Dallas, Texas. The team took second place in their division, landing them in the overall top four of the 96 teams from across the world that competed.

Early Childhood Conference returns to ECTC


The Early Childhood Conference hosted by the ECTC Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education (IECE) program returned to in-person programming this April, bringing together educators, childcare providers and other professionals to explore best practices in early childhood education.

Spring 2023 Innovation Grant awardees


Pictured left to right:

  • Jerisia Lamons was awarded $9,095 for case management and wrap around services for underrepresented minority students, with a focus on African American males.
  • Melanie Figary & math faculty were awarded $2,000 to purchase a stylus-capable laptop for math tutoring.
  • JoNell Henderson was awarded $6,405 to convert ATB 202 into an active learning classroom.

Upward Bound Math and Science now accepting applications


ECTC's Upward Bound Math and Science (UBMS) program is now accepting applications from students of LaRue County, Nelson County, Thomas Nelson, North Hardin and Washington County high schools, freshmen through graduated seniors.

Faculty Spotlight

After 20+ years, Cordova still looks forward to teaching


Professor Tim Cordova started a new chapter in his career this year as he became Elizabethtown Community and Technical College’s Technical Division Chair, turning more of his attention to serving fellow faculty members and addressing the needs of about 10 academic programs. While he’s proud to represent technical faculty as a division chair and to have a role in broader college initiatives, teaching remains the most rewarding part of the job.
