Ohio State Fair Sensory-Friendly Morning
Tuesday, July 25 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
The Ohio Stte Fair is turning down the lights and volume to make the Fair more sensory-friendly in partnership with the Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence (OCALI), the Autism Society of Central Ohio (ASCO), and the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD). Ride the rides with no flashing lights or music or take a break in the quiet room. Dress for Success at BCBDD
Wednesday, July 31 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Dress For Success Cincinnati will be visiting the Janet Clemmons Center located at 282 N. Fair Ave in Hamilton again this year! Dress For Success provides assistance to women in need of appropriate clothing to interview for a job. To participate in the BCBDD Dress For Success Cincinnati event please fill out the Style Kit Form, which will help volunteers who will work with you to choose an interview outfit, and allow the Styling Manager to prepare tailored styling kits personalized to suit your needs!

MetroPark Community Conversation on Accessibility
Wednesday, July 31 from 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
MetroParks of Butler County wants to understand the experiences of all types of park users. With those insights, they will work to eliminate barriers. The upcoming community conversation on accessibility will spark dialogue about your experiences in the parks, and how MetroParks can reflect your concerns and aspirations in our accessibility plans and projects. The community conversation will take place at The Timberman Ridge Area of Forest Run MetroPark located at 1976 Timberman Road, Hamilton, OH 45013. Butler County Special Olympics is Offering Flag Football!
Starting Tuesday, August 6 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
The Butler County Special Olympics will be offering opportunities to participate in flag football this year! Participants will learn the rules and scrimmage teammates. Flag football will begin on Tuesday, August 6 and will be held every Tuesday at Gametime Fitness Center located at 530 Quality Blvd. #C in Fairfield. Athletes are required to wear a mouth piece. Please bring one to the first practice. Athletes may not wear metal cleats. To register visit www.bcospecialolympics.org and look under the "sign up" page. Join the advocacy group Speak Up sponsored by the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities! Everyone can be a self-advocate! Meetings occur once a month at the Janet Clemmons Center and are focused on ways to advocate for yourself and your community. ADA Anniversary Celebration

Join the Access Center for Independent Living, Inc. in recognizing the 34th Anniversary of the ADA and the fight for Disability Rights! This Event will be VIRTUAL and held via Zoom. We will bring together local officials and a nationally recognized disability rights advocate to discuss the disability rights movement, the impact that the ADA has had on our community, the challenge to the next generation of disability rights advocates, and the work that still needs to be done! The Caring for Yourself While Caring for Others toolkit supports people who are providing formal or informal care for a loved one to plan for their own well-being, while continuing to acknowledge the role they play in the lives of others.

Remote Support Research Study
The Ohio State University Nisonger Center is conducting a research study so they can better understand the impact of remote support services! For the survey, the participant and their support person will meet with the surveyors online through video chat. You will answer questions about services and supports. The video chat will take about 1 hour. Both the participant and their support person will earn a $50 gift card for participating. Let the Summer Fun Begin With May We Help's Tinker Toy Giveaway!
May We Help is excited to unveil a super awesome collection of switch-adapted summer toys! They've got everything you need to make this summer a blast! Bubble machines for epic bubble-blowing action, squirt guns for water wars, dancing flowers that move and groove, sidewalk chalk dispensers for colorful creations, and a whole lot more! The toys are free, but they’ll go quick, so it's first-come, first-served. Once your application is received, May We Help will be in touch with pick up dates.
