Dr. Donald Goodin

Dr. Donald Goodin has been a physician for 25 years, but his educational and professional journey started at Elizabethtown Community College in 1987.

Born and raised in Elizabethtown, Dr. Goodin saw ECC as a way to complete his general education before pursuing a career in medicine. He fondly remembers instructors like Dr. Linda Mayhew, Dr. Denis Morrow, and Modesto del Castillo for their love of teaching and desire to help students understand challenging material. Upon graduation, Goodin transferred to Western Kentucky University and attended medical school at the University of Kentucky. He completed his internal medicine residency at the Medical University of South Carolina and returned to the University of Kentucky for a fellowship in hematology and oncology. Dr. Goodin came home to Hardin County in 2018 and practices oncology at Baptist Health Hardin, the hospital where he was born.

“After having lived and worked around the country, I’m grateful to be back in Elizabethtown,” shared Dr. Goodin. “Our community is lucky to have organizations like Baptist Health Hardin and Elizabethtown Community and Technical College, and I look forward to seeing how they continue moving our region forward.”
