ECTC recognizes first President's Pathfinder Award recipient


Elizabethtown-Hardin County Industrial Foundation President and COO Rick Games received the first President’s Pathfinder Award presented by Elizabethtown Community and Technical College. ECTC established the award to recognize college partners whose leadership has created paths to better lives throughout our region.

ECTC announces Gearing Up for Manufacturing initiative


ECTC introduced Gearing Up for Manufacturing on Aug. 26 during an announcement at the Elizabethtown campus. The initiative, in part funded by Kentucky’s Workforce Trust Fund, will focus on the shortage of qualified job seekers in the region’s growing advanced manufacturing sector.

ECTC faculty, staff and friends marched in the Heartland Homecoming Parade Aug. 27, showing off the ECTC Ride the Lightening Learning Lab and Mobile Training Unit.

Jazz Quartet Performs

ECTC hosted The Jamey Aebersold Jazz Quartet for a free concert in the Science Auditorium where community members and ECTC faculty, staff and students were in attendance.

Black Ties and Better Lives


Thank you to all who attended the ECTC Foundation Black Ties & Better Lives Gala September 10! This event raised $50,000 for student support initiatives was a success because of our wonderful and generous community members, ECTC Culinary Arts, Elizabethtown Lifestyle Magazine, and The House on Helm. Thank you all for supporting our students!

Liaisons work hand-in-hand with employers to upscale workforce


Workforce Solutions liaisons will coordinate the design, development, promotion and implementation of customized training programs. They work hand-in-hand with employers to create programs that build a highly skilled, highly trained workforce. Plus, KY TRAINS could cover up to 75 percent of training costs.

It’s never too late. That’s what Kim Church would tell you about chasing a dream career. The 47-year-old is doing just that as a student in ECTC’s respiratory care program.


A mother of nine, she had worked as a preschool teacher in a private school and remembers deciding it was time to make a change.
