Elizabethtown Mayor Jeff Gregory received the ECTC President’s Pathfinder Award in recognition of his impact in the community. ECTC established the award to recognize college partners whose leadership has created paths to better lives throughout our region.

Students celebrate WOW week


ECTC welcomed students to the Fall 2023 semester with WOW Week. Hosted by the First Year Experience program, the event brings together students, faculty, staff and community partners for days of fun, food, music and information. Students learned about college programs, clubs and much more. We wish all our students a fantastic semester!

ECTC announces Metallica Scholar of the Month program


ECTC will award $5,000 in scholarships through the Metallica Scholars Initiative this academic year to students in advanced manufacturing programs. Scholarship recipients, or “Metallica Scholars of the Month,” will be selected based on faculty recommendations throughout the year. William “Zac” Dishon, industrial maintenance student, was chosen for August.

ECTC study abroad group tours Japan


In May, 31 ECTC students, faculty, and guests traveled on a cultural tour of Japan. The study abroad trip, led by ECTC Chair of Global Studies & International Partnerships Kevin Parrett, included visits to several shrines, temples, mountains, cities, villages and much more.

VR experience showcases high-wage, high-demand careers


ECTC has rolled out new virtual reality simulators to attract and inspire the region’s future workforce.


The virtual reality (VR) program is part of the college’s recruiting efforts to assist students in career exploration and increase awareness of high-wage, high-demand careers that are attainable through ECTC education and training.

to Brown’s ears


Tony Brown, ECTC Computer Aided Drafting and Design student and Metallica Scholar, wants to use his training and experience to open a luthier business, building custom guitars. Originally from Washington state, Brown worked as a luthier in Los Angeles before joining the U.S. Army, stationed in Fort Wainwright, Alaska.
