Community Day of Play

Enjoy an abundance of outdoor activities, games, music and more at the Second Annual Day of Play held in partnership with the Village of Romeoville Parks & Recreation Department 5 to 7 p.m., TONIGHT at Rotary Park, 2023 Whitmore Drive, in Romeoville. No registration is necessary for this FREE event. 

Enchanted Ball

Come one, come all, it is time for the Enchanted Ball! Put on your most enchanting outfit and join us for a magical evening of dancing, mystical games, exquisite treats and photo opportunities 6 to 8 p.m., FRIDAY at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center! Cost is $15/$18 for residents/non-residents (ages 2-14). Enchanted Ball is sponsored by NuMark Credit Union.

Toddler Open Gym

Children ages 1 to 4 may enjoy use of the gym from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., September 21 and 28 at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center. The gym will be full of balls, mats, small basketball hoops, soccer goals and more. Parental supervision is required. Cost is $5/$10 for residents/non-residents. Parents are admitted free.

Autumn Family Fun Fest

Join us at Eaton Preserve 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., September 23 for fall-themed fun!

Activities include:

• family hayrides
• pumpkin launching
• pumpkin patch
• prairie maze
• entertainment
• food trucks NEW! (In partnership with Brew Avenue Events)
• beer garden NEW! (In partnership with Brew Avenue Events)
• pony rides
• petting zoo
• inflatables
• and more!

Admission is FREE; however, inflatables, pumpkin patch, pony rides and petting zoo require paid tickets. Tickets and day-of wristbands will be available for purchase onsite.

Early bird wristbands are available now for purchase online for $15 and can be picked up at the event check-in. Additional wristbands will be available for purchase on the day of the event for $20. Wristbands include unlimited access to inflatables and the petting zoo and one pumpkin.

Youth Basketball Leagues

Registration is OPEN for the Park District's youth basketball leagues for boys and girls in kindergarten through eighth grade. Volunteer coaches introduce participants to the fundamentals of playing basketball through weekly practices and weekend games. The league emphasizes proper techniques, knowledge of the rules, team strategy, participation and fun. Enrollment is limited, so register early. Early bird rate ends October 15.

Spooky Sprint

The Spooky Sprint Fun Run is fast approaching! Enjoy a one-mile themed run around Eaton Preserve October 21. Race kicks off at 10:30 a.m. Participants receive a shirt and swag bag that includes a unique, event-themed giveaway along with some other cool items. All runners MUST be registered one month prior to the start of their run to be guaranteed their shirt size.

Basketball League

Keep your competitive edge and stay in great shape in the men's fall basketball league, running Sundays, October 15 through December 10 at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center. Teams are guaranteed eight games and must provide their own T-shirts/uniforms with numbers. Prize money is awarded to the first- and second-place finishers of the regular season. A trophy is awarded to the playoff champion. Registration deadline is October 6.

Scout's Summer Fun Hunt runs through October 31! Download the app, visit our parks, complete challenges, earn points and win prizes! Prize packages are now available for pick-up at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center through November 10.
