Greetings Eden Prairie Community,

We are busy planning for summer programming and our top priority is to create safe environments for all participants. As we are working to create new program environments, activities and policies around the guidelines from MDH, MDE and CDC, we will continue to share more information related to specific programs. This week, we want to share more information related to the structure of our programs, in addition to some helpful resources and information related to what is happening as we enter next week and beyond.

We also have a COVID-19 website that includes the latest updates for each program. The page will continue to be updated with program status updates.

Little Eagles Summer Camp Update
Little Eagles Summer registration will be open to the general public starting next Monday, May 25th through our online registration system. Please note that our office will be closed on May 25th for Memorial Day.

In keeping with guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health and the CDC, the following items are important to note:

  • Summer camp will run from June 15th through August 21st and be closed on July 3rd.
  • Hours will be 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM each day. We are sorry for the inconvenience this may create for you. Due to lower staff ratios, we need to modify the hours of programming.
  • There is a 4 day and 5 day/week option, but all weeks must be a consistent schedule throughout the entire summer.
  • We will not schedule any field trips due to the unpredictable environment of most field trip locations and the fact that some cannot accommodate social distancing guidelines. We will utilize outdoor spaces as much as possible.
  • We will practice social distancing and align with the state safety recommendations by placing students in home rooms with no more than 10 people, including staff, in the room at one time.
  • We will avoid the mixing of groups in home rooms at all times.
  • Drop off and pick up will happen in the vestibule, no adults are allowed to enter the building.
  • Each class will remain together the entire summer and will not mix with other classes.
  • Heavy rotations will be used for playgrounds and common spaces where cleaning is conducted in between each use.
  • Students will have their own supply bin. Toys will be cleaned each day.
  • Staff and students will be screened when entering the building, including a temperature check each day. Anyone with a fever over 100.4 degrees will not be allowed to enter the building per CDC guidance. That means that a child with a fever over 100.4 degrees will not be allowed to attend that day.
  • Social distancing guidelines will be respected at all times.

Our primary purpose is the health and safety of all and we appreciate your flexibility during these times!
EAGLE ZONE SCHOOL AGE CARE
Summer Eagle Zone Program
Summer registration will be open to the general public starting next Monday, May 25th through our online registration system. Please note that our office will be closed on May 25th for Memorial Day. Families previously registered for Eagle Zone this summer will receive priority registration through May 29th.

Please review this important information prior to registering:

  • Eagle Zone will be open from June 15th through August 14th (the end date for programming is due to the anticipated need for elementary buildings to prepare for the return to school in the fall).
  • Eagle Zone will be closed on July 3rd and 6th for cleaning and maintenance of the elementary school buildings. For more information, please refer to the 2020 Summer Calendar.
  • Children entering K-7 in the Fall 2020 are eligible to attend.
  • There is a minimum of 4-days a week, and minimum of 5 weeks of the summer when submitting a contract.
  • The cost of attending is $49/day.
  • Fees include a morning and afternoon snack. Children are required to bring a bag lunch each day.
  • The hours that Eagle Zone will be open are 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. We are sorry for the inconvenience this may create for you. If you choose to withdraw your contract due to this change, we will refund your registration fee.

Social Distancing, Health & Safety
With our plan to provide childcare in the safest way possible, we must follow the guidelines of creating a predictable environment and avoid the mixing of groups. We will be creating consistent groups of students who will be assigned a classroom for the summer. We will also be limiting the capacity at each site. In addition, the following changes have been made to the Eagle Zone summer program:
  • We will practice social distancing and align with the state safety recommendations by placing students in home rooms with no more than 10 people in the room at one time.
  • We will avoid the mixing of groups in home rooms at all times.
  • We will not schedule any field trips due to the unpredictable environment of most field trip locations and the fact that some cannot accommodate social distancing guidelines. We will utilize outdoor spaces as much as possible.
  • There will be a required drop-off and pick-up procedure at each site. Parents will be allowed in the entry vestibule area for drop-off and pick-up, but not in the building.
  • Rotations will be used for playgrounds and common spaces where cleaning is conducted in between each use.
  • Students will have their own supply bin and access to additional supplies that are cleaned each day.
  • Staff and students will be screened when entering the building, including a temperature check each day. Anyone with a fever over 100.4 degrees will not be allowed to enter the building per CDC guidance. That means that a child with a fever over 100.4 degrees will not be allowed to attend that day.

These guidelines have been implemented during the Alternative Care that Eagle Zone has been providing to families of healthcare workers and emergency personnel.

What do these guidelines look like at Eagle Zone?

Students Checking-in
When students check-in, they will go through a screening process. *Note: for the purpose o f this video, the child is being asked the screening questions. When parents drop their child off and check them in, the parent will be asked the questions.

Program Environment
We will be using classroom spaces as primary home rooms and also use breakout spaces for specific STEM, Art and Enrichment activities. We will incorporate activities that we have used in the past in environments that allow for physical distancing. It is important for students to be aware of their own physical distancing, so we will create a safe environment using visual cues, in addition to spacing out tables and different activity areas within classrooms. Our Program Environment will look different, but despite the physical distancing, we will continue to offer activities that promote social engagement and fostering new friendships.

Parent Drop-off & Pick-up
Next week we will provide an overview of the drop-off and pick-up process. It is our goal to give you some insight as to what our program will look like if your child attends.

Eagle Zone and Targeted Services
Students attending Eagle Zone who are enrolled in an online Targeted Services course will receive support in one of our distance learning classrooms. These classrooms will follow the same social distancing guidelines as the Eagle Zone home rooms.

50% EPIC Discount for Eagle Zone Families
Families who are enrolled in Eagle Zone are eligible for a 50% discount in an online virtual EPIC course each week. This discount applies to online fee based blended courses that are still being offered, online this summer. For families who are currently enrolled in EPIC and Eagle Zone, more information will be shared next week for how to claim your discount. If space allows for additional enrollments in Eagle Zone after May 29th, information for how families can register for both Eagle Zone and EPIC with the discount will be provided the week of June 1st.
EPIC YOUTH PROGRAMS
EPIC & Targeted Services Summer Program Updates
