Summer registration has opened for many of our programs and as we continue to plan for a fun and safe summer, we will continue to keep you updated through various channels of communication, including program specific emails. This will be our final weekly email covering all programs in our department, but the Community Ed. COVID-19 page, www.edenpr.org/CEcovid19 , will continue to be updated as each program has new information to share. So if you haven't already, please visit our COVID-19 website for the latest updates for each program area listed below.
EARLY CHILDHOOD FAMILY EDUCATION (ECFE)
Early Childhood Screening
Due to the on-going situation involving COVID-19, there are no appointments being scheduled for May and June at this time. As we continue to monitor the situation, you will be able to find additional appointment availability beyond June here.

Parent Resources
Do you have questions about tantrums, sibling relationships, bedtime routines, healthy eating, or developmental milestones? Schedule a confidential one-on-one consultation with an experienced parent educator who will connect with you by phone, email, or video conference. This consultation is free to all Eden Prairie families with children ages birth through 5 years old. Parents of a K-12 child may also request a consultation for a $35 per hour fee.

Preschool Families   
Throughout the summer, all families currently enrolled in preschool programs in the past year and for the fall of 2020 will receive weekly emails from our parent educators to help support you and your child during the summer with activities, resources, and events.  
The following summer classes have been  cancelled :
  • Camp Animals
  • Camp Make Believe
  • Camp Vehicles
  • Camp Dinosaurs
  • Let’s Get Ready for Preschool

Families of Babies 
The following FREE baby classes are open for registration but will be held in a virtual format. Those classes are:
  • Infant Massage - 6/19; 6/22; 7/30; plus 8/14 – same start times
  • Baby Sign Language - 7/30 – same start time
  • Parent & Baby Yoga – 6/5; 7/31 – same start time

The following classes have been cancelled and replaced with Song and Story Time:
  • Breakfast and Story Time - cancelled
  • Dinner and Story Time -cancelled

NEW CLASS
Song and story time with Ms. Kathy - Baby teacher. 
Connect online with other parents who have little ones. Bring your baby and learn some of our favorite songs, hear a story and learn what ECFE is all about. Hear from current participants as well! (a Google Meet link will be sent before the session)

Little Eagles Summer registration is now open through our online registration system.


EAGLE ZONE SCHOOL AGE CARE
Summer Eagle Zone Program Registration
Today is the last day for families who were previously registered for Eagle Zone Summer 2020 to register and receive priority registration. Starting tomorrow, Saturday, May 30th, registrations will be accepted based on the following procedure:
  • Tier 1, 2 & 3 families will be given priority based on the following state guidelines within the existing structure of the registration requirements.
  • New families will be accepted based on site capacity and staffing availability based on the order that the contract is submitted.



Social Distancing, Health & Safety FAQ's
We have created a FAQ document regarding social distancing, health and safety measures/strategies that will be implemented in the summer program.

Eagle Zone and Targeted Services
Students attending Eagle Zone who are enrolled in an online Targeted Services course will receive support in one of our distance learning classrooms. These classrooms will follow the same social distancing guidelines as the Eagle Zone home rooms.

50% EPIC Discount for Eagle Zone Families
Families who are enrolled in Eagle Zone are eligible for a 50% discount in an online virtual EPIC course each week. This discount applies to online fee based blended courses that are still being offered, online this summer. As we continue to accept contracts for Eagle Zone, we are now planning on sharing the discount claim information the week of June 1st, prior to the weekly update on June 5th.
EPIC YOUTH PROGRAMS
Targeted Services Summer Program Updates
Through the week of July 6, all Targeted Services classes will be offered via Distance Learning.  Classes will meet for 1.5 hours per day of live, real-time instruction with their teacher over Google Meet.  All families who were registered for a Targeted Services camp through the week of July 6 have received an email outlining the specific plan for each course. 

Further information about Targeted Services camps that start July 13 and beyond will be communicated by June 10. A full listing of our available online programming can be found here .

EPIC Summer Program Updates
We are thrilled to announce the opening of an expanded catalog of EPIC Activity Camps this summer, including additional camps beginning the week of June 15. These camps will be led by our EPIC Instructors, and will closely follow the latest guidelines from the Minnesota Department of Health for summer youth programming.

To serve as many students as possible, we will be offering indoor and outdoor EPIC Activity Camps at Cedar Ridge, Eden Lake, Forest Hills, and Prairie View. We will not be offering any camps at Oak Point/Eagle Heights at this time.

Registration is now  OPEN  for  NEW  half-day activity camps the week of June 15th!  Registration for our expanded catalog will open on June 1st, and new courses will be added between June 1-8.

ADULT LEARNING & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Family Resources Program
Though school meal distribution ends on June 29, food for those in need will be available all summer. Non-perishable food items (e.g. boxes of pasta, rice, canned goods) from the Sheridan Story and additional healthy food items and snacks for kids will be available weekly during the months of July and August for those in need of additional food support. Somali Liaison Support
The Early Childhood and Community Education Somali Cultural Liaison is available through June 30th to support our Somali speaking families for their educational needs and to provide them culturally and linguistically appropriate services. Volunteer Program
Due to social distancing guidelines, we will not have EPIC volunteers working in the buildings this summer.

Family School Program
The Fall 2020 Family School Program will be a mix of in-person and distance learning. Adult English classes will continue to be taught online. We are still planning on serving eligible preschool students in-person. We will reach out to families who are currently enrolled and those who were interested in participating next year (the 2020/2021 year).
