Eden Prairie Families & Community,

Although we await further guidance from the state related to our summer programming, we can assure you that we are monitoring the situation on a daily basis. As we continue planning for various program options, our dedication and commitment to serving the community is our top priority. We are busy planning around the current guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health, Minnesota Department of Education and the Office of Governor Walz. We are focused on planning for the future within the appropriate guidelines. As we continue in doing so, we want to keep you informed regarding important information as it relates to various programs in Community Education.

Spring & Summer Eagle Zone Program Updates
Although we are currently allowed to only offer care to families of healthcare and emergency workers, we continue planning for the summer and next fall.

This planning involves an evaluation of our typical programming, and identifying ways to adopt social distancing strategies within our programming. We understand the importance of having access to quality childcare in our community, and our commitment to meeting that need continues. We are planning as though we will be allowed to continue programming this summer, and we will be ready to share more information with families once we receive further guidance from the state. More detailed information will be shared with families in our weekly update email next week .

We would appreciate your feedback by completing the Youth Programs Survey below if you have not already done so. We have been involved in various planning sessions regarding social distancing strategies in childcare settings so that once we are allowed to open our doors to the community, it will be a safe and healthy environment for all children.

Volunteer Program Updates
Though all in-person volunteer shifts have been cancelled through the end of the current academic year, we have a fun way for volunteers to support our learners. As a Sharing Inspiration Guest Speaker, you can share your passion and expertise with our students to enhance their learning. If you are knowledgeable about science, reading, or math, or another specific topic, please feel free to send a brief video or recording of yourself discussing this subject to mlaubach@edenpr.org . We will then share your video with teachers who may be interested in sharing it with students.
