The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau would like to thank the 450 locals who recently attended the three special screenings of The Outer Edge series in Kill Devil Hills, Manteo and Buxton. The public was given a special preview showing of the six episodes before the series published online. “We were really excited to share the films with our local community first,” explains Lee Nettles, Executive Director at the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau. “The response from those who joined us at the premieres was overwhelming and a testament to both the local storytellers and to this place that we all love.”
Twenty-three Dare County residents were interviewed and followed on camera during The Outer Edge project, as they shared their passions for the Outer Banks and connections to the community. Three locals also participated behind the camera and assisted with production. “Our hope with these films is that they serve as a point of pride for locals, a reminder of why we work so hard to live here,” says Nettles. “For potential guests, the videos are intended to share what it truly means to be a part of the Outer Banks community, the respect for people and place, and the sense of responsibility to preserve and protect it for future generations.”
