Community Enhancement applications may be emailed to brendsc@ci.williston.nd.us  or mailed to Brenda Schmidt at PO Box 1306, Williston, ND 58802.
Williston Economic Development - Applications are being accepted for the 2020 Community Enhancement Program. Each year, the Williston City Commission and STAR Fund Advisory board allocate up to $50,000 for nonprofit groups and organizations to fund activities and projects that improve the quality of life in and around the Williston area. Community Enhancement Application

Williston leads North Dakota Airports in Annual Passenger Growth
The new Williston Basin International Airport opened October 10, 2019.
Fargo Forum -  Air travel is on the up and up in North Dakota.  Of the eight commercial airports in the state, seven have seen more passengers boarding planes over the previous year. Williston experienced the largest annual growth in air travel with 20% more boardings over the past year. The city closed the more than 70-year-old Sloulin Field International Airport on Oct. 10 and opened the new Williston Basin International Airport to handle the greater demand.  Read More
Williston Mayor helps Salvation Army kick off Red Kettle Campaign
Williston Mayor Howard Klug makes the official first donation to the Salvation Army's 2019 Red Kettle Campaign.
Williston Herald - The season of giving is upon us, and the Salvation Army is starting up its Red Kettle campaign across Williston to raise money for those in need.  Set up inside the Cashwise entryway, Mayor Howard Klug kicked the campaign off by making the first donation to the iconic Red Kettle. Klug said the partnership between the city of Williston and the Salvation Army is an integral part of what makes a community like Williston great, especially during the holidays.  Read More
New Jamaican Restaurant to open in Sidney
Sidney Herald - Island Kitchens, a new Jamaican restaurant, is scheduled to open Wednesday, Dec. 4, in Sidney at 430 North Central Avenue. Cal Gordon, who was born and raised in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, is the owner and founder of Island Kitchens. "About five years ago, I moved over here to Sidney," Gordon said. Read More
Holiday Lights Parade November 29 in Williston

The parade begins at 6 p.m. on November 29 in Downtown Williston. 
News Release -  The Williston Area Chamber of Commerce will present the 25th Annual Holiday Lights Parade themed "Silver Bells" on Friday, November 29 at 6 p.m. The parade will travel on Main Street, starting at the 2nd Street East intersection and ending at Harmon Park. Following the parade, the holiday lights in Harmon Park will be turned on by the Williston Parks & Recreation District. The community is invited to walk through the park to view the lights at 7:30 p.m.  Read More

The ribbon cutting will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the new Meg-A-Latte location at 1810 2nd Ave. W.

11/29 ------ 25th Anniversary Holiday Lights Parade
The parade will be held at 6 p.m. beginning at the corner of 2nd Street East and Main and ending at Harmon Park. The lighting of the Christmas lights at Harmon Park will be held following the parade.

11/30-12/31 ------  Spring Lake Park Holiday Lights Drive
Enjoy thousands of holiday lights in over 60 displays nightly from 5:30-9:30 p.m.

12/04 ------ 1 Million Cups
Support local entrepreneurs by attending the one-hour meeting at 8:30 a.m. at the Teton Lounge. Complimentary coffee will be provided by Caffeinated. 

12/05 ----- Williston Downtowners Holiday Stroll
Shop locally for everyone on your Christmas list. Caroling, bonfires, ice sculptor and in-store sales throughout Downtown Williston from 5-8 p.m.

12/06 ------ WED Holiday Open House
Williston Economic Development invites the community to its annual event from 5-8 p.m. at 113 4th St. E. (Williston Center for Development). Enjoy refreshments, networking and giveaways.
