The DIA’s 12th Annual Community Group Exhibition is officially open and is being held virtually for the first time this year. This year’s show features work from 100 artists. Detroit Style, Car Design in the Motor City is very popular with visitors in the museum. For those who cannot come or do not feel comfortable during the pandemic, exhibition curator Ben Colman has recorded a tour of Detroit Style. Russ Marshall Learning Resource | School Field Trip from Home

The museum’s education team has created a special photography education resource. Using an examination of 50 years of photographs by Russ Marshall, whose work is featured in the museum’s exhibition, Russ Marshall: Detroit Photographs 1958-2008, as inspiration, students can create their own Photovoice Project with the intention of capturing a slice of their lives in this moment in time. DFT @ Home is a virtual screening room that presents Detroit Film Theatre selections at your convenience and helps benefit the DFT. TATM presents Say Amen, Somebody | For Seniors

This week’s Thursdays at the Museum features a special presentation of the film Say Amen, Somebody, a now-legendary, joyous and continually thrilling portrait of the lives and music of the pioneers of modern Gospel music. DIA Film Curator Elliot Wilhelm will introduce the film and answer audience questions before providing a link with a password to watch the film at home for free. Learn more >
