BVR Community Health Update
11.18.20
Hello Beaver Community,

Here is a snapshot of the overall health of the BVR community as we head into break, as well as some reminders on holiday travel and links to resources you may need during this time.

As a reminder and an important note, if your child is sick and getting a COVID test at anytime—including when we are on break—please contact the School Nurse, Talia Ossowski at tosswoski@bcdschool.org to let her know the result.
Partnership and communication are critical during this time. Thank you for your commitment to keeping us informed.
At a Glance
Total cases overall since the start of school
8 positive cases
Total cases since the last update on November 9
3*

*Details about these cases: One of these cases is the Upper School student we notified the community about on Sunday, the second case is a student who is fully remote, and the third case is a student in the Upper School who is currently in quarantine. Due to the contact tracing that has already been conducted, we are considering that this third case may be a signal of transmission within our community and are reviewing all potential factors to assess this possibility.

Please note, since reporting the positive case and going fully remote on November 9, there have been no cases of transmission in the Middle School.
Total number of BVR community reported results—this includes school-directed and volunteered tests:
167 negative results

Reminder: We are tracking the number of total tests our community takes (positive and negative, required, and voluntary); please continue to share all instances of COVID testing with us.
Some of you may have questions about how this information affects your family’s plans for next week. As part of our commitment to transparency in communication, we are sharing all the information we have so that you can make the decision you feel is best for your family.
Reminders About Upcoming Breaks
Travel & Testing Resources
Travel & Visitors
As a reminder, our protocol is to follow the MA state guidelines.

What you need to do before break

First, review the MA state guidelines. Then, if you haven’t done so already, preview the new daily attestation questions that will appear in the Magnus app after break and look for a potential stop sign. Please click here to view the questions, and if you anticipate a stop sign, share your plans in the form for which option you anticipate choosing (getting tested or quarantining and learning online for 14 days prior returning to campus). This will give us important visibility into the number of people returning to campus after break.

Where to find testing resources

If you are looking for testing resources in addition to your primary care provider, here are links to a COVID-19 Test Site Locator, the Stop the Spread site, and two at-home testing resources: Pixel by LabCorp and Vault Health. Please note, the Pixel by LabCorp test is available to individuals 18 or older.
If you have any questions and/or would like to discuss potential travel plans or concerns, contact the BVR Health Office directly.
