Dear Sinai Temple Community,

As Coronavirus continues to spread, Sinai Temple and its schools remain diligent in preempting and responding to potential threats. We want to assure you that we take the health and safety of our community very seriously and are doing everything we can to ensure this is a safe space.

We have continued to consult with several infectious disease doctors, as we develop a plan to keep our community as healthy as possible. The building will be cleaned and disinfected daily and we encourage regular hand washing to prevent the spread of germs. Hand sanitizer is available throughout the building, including in offices, every classroom and in all the gymnasiums.

In addition to following all of these preventative guidelines that the CDC suggests, Sinai Temple will also take the following precautions on Shabbat and beyond:
-Rather than greeting your friends “Shabbat Shalom” with a handshake, hug or kiss, please greet with spoken message only.

-Please do not touch or kiss the mezuzot around the building.

-We suggest that you not use the coffee machines located in the Sinai Temple office, etc.
-As was done last Shabbat, we will not bring the Torah into the pews and the Torah will not be allowed to be touched. Immediately following services, the ark will remain open and you may stand before it for private prayer.

-Communal talitot and kippot will not be available. Please bring your own, and we suggest that you not share with others.

-Our prayer books will be wiped down daily.

-If you are experiencing an sort of sickness, cold, headache, etc., please stay home. Do not come to Temple, school or any public places.

These proactive measures are for the welfare of our entire community, and we thank you for your compliance and patience.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Temple or our schools directly. You may also reply to this e-mail.

Shabbat Shalom.

Warmly,
Howard Lesner
