In June, the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders and United Way of Greater Union County announced the Youth Employment Pathways Program (YEPP) Summer Initiative. Providing summer jobs and work readiness training for youth between the ages of 16-24, YEPP is funded by the Union County Freeholder Board and the Union County Workforce Development Board, through a grant from the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
Recently, 50 youth attended their first orientation for Summer YEPP at Warinanco Sports Center. The new participants in attendance (above middle) will be placed in various employment experiences through the Union County Parks and Recreation. An 8-week program beginning July 8th, youth at the orientation received information on workshops and leadership development as well as information from Wells Fargo about how to open a bank account.
Summer YEPP is expected to provide summer jobs to 200 youth. For more information on the YEPP Program, visit
