Summer YEPP Underway
In June, the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders and United Way of Greater Union County announced the Youth Employment Pathways Program (YEPP) Summer Initiative. Providing summer jobs and work readiness training for youth between the ages of 16-24, YEPP is funded by the Union County Freeholder Board and the Union County Workforce Development Board, through a grant from the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

Recently, 50 youth attended their first orientation for Summer YEPP at Warinanco Sports Center. The new participants in attendance (above middle) will be placed in various employment experiences through the Union County Parks and Recreation. An 8-week program beginning July 8th, youth at the orientation received information on workshops and leadership development as well as information from Wells Fargo about how to open a bank account.
Summer YEPP is expected to provide summer jobs to 200 youth. For more information on the YEPP Program, visit uwguc.org/yepp
Ernst & Young's Take Your Child to Work Day Inspires Us All
This past Spring, Ernst & Young held their annual Take Your Child to Work Day where children creatively participated in and learned about the work their parents do at the firm. One of the activities included a giving back portion where children learned about the importance of supporting there communities. Children put together personal care kits and literacy kits. Afterward, United Way of Greater Union County and employees from EY delivered the kits to non-profit organizations in Union County.

United Way of Greater Union County thanks the employees and the children for their donations! What a fun and creative way on how to teach children the different ways that they too can serve.
We'd like to thank all who supported this year's Annual Celebration held at the Hilton Garden Inn on June 19, 2019. Over 170 people were in attendance as we recognized leaders in the community. And a special thank you to the honorees for graciously accepting our awards.

All proceeds from the 2019 Annual Celebration will benefit programs and services funded by United Way of Greater Union County, whose mission is to improve lives and build strong communities.
The 12th Annual DELV District Golf Outing sponsored by FedEx Ground was a wonderful success. The outing was held at the Royce Brook Golf Club on June 27, 2019.

We are grateful to FedEx Ground for their continued support of this event.
