Community Lecture Series:

Cardiovascular Health

Sign up for any or all of the programs in OLLI’s free, public Cardiovascular Health & You lecture series. These will be held October 9, 16, 23, and 30, 7–8 p.m. PT via Zoom. Special thanks to Asante for facilitating this lecture series and to Steven Hersch, MD, for serving as the series moderator.

On October 9, 7–8 p.m. PT, Dr. Brian Gross, MD, Cardiologist with Southern Oregon Cardiology, will present “Clogged Fuel Lines and Electrical Mischief of the Heart,” an overview of the plumbing and electrical systems of our all-important heart. Learn how modern day cardiology has evolved to provide solutions when either of these systems malfunctions. Click to register.

Sign Up for the One Credit Program!

Participation in the One Credit program helps SOU students and gives you free access to the SOU Hannon Library. The more members who participate, the more funding SOU gets from the State of Oregon to support the next generation of lifelong learners.

To participate, you must be age 65+ and have lived in Oregon for at least 12 months. Take a minute and sign up for the One Credit program. If you are unable to fill out the online form, give our office a call and we will help: 541-552-6048. We just have to verify your date of birth and residence. If you have already filled out the form, thank you!

Forms are due by Wednesday, October 23rd.

• Wednesday, October 9, 16, 23, and 30: Fall Community Lectures
• Monday, November 11: OLLI at SOU closed in observance of Veterans Day
• Tuesday, November 12: Winter PDF catalog available online
• Friday, November 15: Spring term course proposal period opens
• Monday, November 18: Winter Priority Registration begins
• Friday, November 22: Fall term ends

Many Fall 2024 Courses Still Have Available Seats!

If you want an easy way to find out which courses still have available seats, follow these steps:

1. Sign in to your OLLI at SOU account
2. Click the big red button that says "Register for Courses"
3. Scroll down and click on "Catalog Search"
4. Check the "Display Open Courses Only" box and hit the red "Search" button
5. Browse the ones available, and click "More Info" for any course you want to add to your cart.

Housekeeping Reminder

This is a reminder to every OLLI at SOU member to please wash out your mugs after using them.

We provide reusable mugs as a part of SOU's sustainability initiative, but this means every member needs to be responsible for their own dishes.

Please be respectful and do not leave a mess behind for someone else to clean up. We love our volunteers and do not want them spending time scrubbing hot cocoa out of mugs.
