Outgoing Board Members L-R: Junior Board Members Elaina Rodriguez & Ashley Dobrzynski

Coreen Dicus-Johnson, Alicia Kiser, Mervyn Byrd, and Pat Boelter

Amy Rislov

At our annual meeting in April, we bid a fond farewell to four esteemed members of our board as well as our two junior board members. Each of these outgoing members has played a pivotal role in guiding our organization's direction and success, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and strategic foresight. Thank you for the gifts of your time, talent, and treasure.

As we express our gratitude for their invaluable contributions, we are also pleased to welcome a new board member, Amy Rislov. Bringing a fresh perspective and more than twenty-five years of human resource experience in the health care and insurance industry, Amy is eager to collaborate and contribute to organizations that better her community.

Enhancing Expertise: Professional Development at National Conference

Last month, some of our staff attended the annual Foundant Technologies Summit in Salt Lake City, Utah. The immersive conference, dedicated to maximizing the capabilities of our CRM software, provided our staff with valuable insights into the latest features and best practices. This investment in our staff’s expertise highlights our commitment to serving our donors and fund advisors.

We are excited to partner with Sunset Playhouse to manage its new endowment fund, ensuring the financial stability of their organization for generations to come!

An endowment is like the backstage crew of a production – often working behind the scenes but playing an indispensable role in its success. It provides a financial foundation that allows Sunset Playhouse to weather uncertainties, enhance artistic endeavors, and manage the upkeep of facilities.

Plus, Sunset Playhouse is generously matching donations to its endowment fund, up to a cumulative total of $300,000, meaning your gift will have DOUBLE the impact!

Celebrating 25 Years of Impact:

Join Us in Building a Stronger Community for the Next Quarter-Century

Thank you for being part of our community! It is through the generosity of donors, friends, and neighbors like you that we are celebrating the Waukesha County Community Foundation’s remarkable 25-year journey. To prepare for the next 25 years, we need your help.

As we celebrate this milestone year, we know we are just getting started. To continue our philanthropic work in Waukesha County and meet the needs of the future, we ask for your support to grow our Community Grants Fund.

Every year since 2001, the Waukesha County Community Foundation has awarded grants to nonprofits in our community through a competitive application process. In 2001, the total awarded was $8,000 while in 2023, more than $166,000 was awarded. Over the years, more than $1.9 million has been awarded through the Community Grants Cycle.

These grants are possible through endowed funds which were created by donors like you. Field of Interest Funds, combined with our general Community Grants Fund, make it possible for the WCCF to respond to nonprofit requests and meet community needs. With your help, we have awarded grants in support of arts and culture, health and human services, education, community development, conservation, and historical preservation.

In honor of our 25 years milestone, please consider a gift of $25, $250, or more to grow our impact. We seek to double the Community Grants Fund and increase the grant dollars available annually to meet emerging needs like housing, mental health, and addiction recovery support. Through our work with nonprofits and collaboration on county-wide projects, we know the needs of Waukesha County continue to increase and change, and your support will help us meet those needs in perpetuity.
