2020 TIME CAPSULE
The City of Nampa has decided to create a time capsule to commemorate the unforgettable year of 2020. Mayor Kling invites the community to submit a one-page letter recording their experience in 2020 by the end of January 2021. For questions or to make suggestions, please email mayor@cityofnampa.us or call (208) 468-5401. Letters can be mailed to: Office of the Mayor, 411 3rd Street South, Nampa ID 83651.
LOCAL COVID-19 VACCINE INFORMATION
As more information on the COVID-19 vaccine becomes available, we will be sharing it with our community. Currently, the State of Idaho's Vaccine Advisory Committee is working hard to provide vaccines across the state. They have published an estimated timeline below and continue to update FAQs on their website.
FROM THE FRONTLINE
SAINT ALPHONSUS MEDICAL CENTER NAMPA
Travis Leach, President

Saint Alphonus has been busy vaccinating our front line healthcare workers. I am excited that we are able to get this protection in place for the safety of our healthcare workers who have put themselves in harms way ever since the pandemic emerged. The next critical step is to get those at high risk that are residents in care facilities vaccinated. I am looking forward to the availability of the vaccine to work to vaccinate our high risk community members and eventually everyone. There is light at the end of the tunnel but we must stay vigilant in protecting one another in the meantime by wearing face coverings and physical distancing.
ST. LUKE'S HEALTH SYSTEM
Joan Agee, DNP, RN FACHE, CNOR
Chief Operating Officer/Chief Nursing Officer
St. Luke's Health System

I am pleased to report that St. Luke’s Nampa has seen a decrease in the number of patients diagnosed with COVID-19 being admitted to the hospital. I am cautiously optimistic, however, and hope that we will not see a spike in the number of cases following the holiday gatherings.

The St. Luke’s Health System has been administering the new Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to its employees and healthcare providers.  I am hopeful that we will soon see the end of this pandemic.

I would like to thank our community for their ongoing support of our healthcare workers and for following the established recommendations of hand hygiene, social distancing and wearing masks to stop the spread of the disease.

CITY OF NAMPA OFFICES CONTINUE
REMOTE SERVICES TO COMMUNITY
The City of Nampa plans to continue serving our community remotely through
the end of January 2021 and then reevaluate the next steps at that time.
We will keep providing updates as they become available.

We are happy to announce the City of Nampa’s Clerk’s office will once again accept passport applications beginning January 11, 2021 by appointment only.
Nampa City Council Meetings to begin at 5:30pm starting January 19, 2021

Beginning Tuesday, January 19, 2021, Nampa City Council meetings will begin one-half hour earlier at 5:30 p.m. and public hearings will begin at 6:30 p.m. Nampa City Council meetings are held the first and third Monday of each month at Nampa City Hall, located at 411 3rd Street South. If the Monday meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting is moved to the following day.

In recent years, many council meetings lasted past 10 p.m., with some even later. Nampa Mayor Debbie Kling proposed the earlier start time to accommodate residents and businesses participating in public hearings and awaiting council decisions.

Mayor Kling said, “We want to ensure council meetings are accessible, transparent and as accommodating as possible. Beginning our meeting and public hearings one-half hour earlier is a small way of showing the taxpayers we serve that we appreciate and respect their time.”

Council agendas are published three business days ahead of the meeting and can be found at https://cityofnampa.us/agendacenter. Council meetings are available to watch “live or later” at https://livestream.com/cityofnampa.
