It’s Holiday Season in HSBay! You can feel the counting of blessing in the air as we all scatter (and come together) in family/friend celebration. Note that there will be more traffic in the area..so drive safely as visitors are not always aware of the movement of deer and the hilly roads. Be especially safe if you are heading out of town…and return home to us with stories!

Below you will see info about some holiday events – especially hoping you will join the POA Holiday Happy Happy Hour on Dec. 8th! I also encourage you to take a look at the details below to join other POAs in supporting all of our first responders and their families. AND…Take a moment to give a thank you to our hard-working POA staff.

December is also the time where we begin to close out some items on the Board and look toward the new year leadership and activity.

Three of our Board members will be leaving at the end of their term in February – after serving with full hearts, sharing their time and talent for several years. We will say goodbye to Rick Overholt (who plans to stay connected to the Park Committee volunteer efforts), to Bryan Roach who stepped up as president this year, and to Belinda Roberts who has brought her education and years of work experience in finance to the oversight of the POA budget planning/reporting.  We are blessed to already have three capable and caring people expressing interest in serving in their place – each representing a different sector of our POA community, bringing a wide range of experiences and demographics. Blessed. Election information will be coming out in January. Note: Even if uncontested, we will have a ‘get to know you’ forum for you to meet your Board.

It has been a great 2025 with much accomplished by your POA Board and staff. With multiple successful events (Spring Fling, rainy day 4th of July, Trunk or Treat, Fall Festival, Fox Hollow Springs celebration (and a 100 monthly social activities), resolution of legal matters, re-established collaboration with other aspects of your community, and a healthy budget…..we can end this fiscal year with a sense of real celebration and gratefulness. Come join us in 2026!

FOX PARK SHINES BECAUSE OF YOU

Fox Hollow Springs Park is shining again because this community showed up in a big way. What began two years ago with a few neighborhood boys asking for “more to do” grew into a full-scale effort powered by neighbors, churches, volunteers, and board members who simply cared enough to make it happen. Volunteers trimmed limbs, hauled rocks, cleared the creek edges, and spent countless hours restoring the pond and the natural spring that feeds it. The Fix It Friends from the Church of Horseshoe Bay came out and assembled the picnic benches piece by piece.

And then at the Grand Re-Opening, Lake Church cooked burgers and hot dogs; the Church of Horseshoe Bay delivered cookies and brownies; St. Paul Church of Horseshoe Bay brought chips; and Bible Church supplied buns. It was a whole community effort in every way.

And then there are the individuals who took this project personally. HSB POA Vice President Rick Overholt picked up the call in 2023 and never stopped pushing the vision forward. Board Director Cynthia Clinesmith stepped in as an on-the-ground project manager more than once, working directly with the City to help coordinate the installation of the new restroom and the playground surfacing that surrounds the playscape. Neighbors tolerated the noise and dust, and volunteers kept returning with gloves and tools and a stubborn determination to make the park better for everyone. The result is a space that finally reflects the heart of the people who use it. Families will gather here, kids will run and climb, and new memories will be made under the old oaks and beside the flowing spring. Fox Park belongs to the community, and the community proved exactly what can happen when everyone pulls together.

While we are talking about the renewed energy around Fox Park, this is also a great time to highlight the Little Free Library located just to the left of the park entrance on Mountain Dew. This small library is dedicated entirely to children’s books and could really use a caring volunteer to look after it each week. It has dealt with its share of vandalism in the past, and having a parent or grandparent keep an eye on it would make a world of difference. If your kids or grandkids have books they have outgrown, this is the perfect place to rehome those lonely books. To volunteer, simply reply to this email with your name and phone number.

Celebrating the Dedication and Sacrifice of Our Everyday Heroes

As the holiday season approaches, families gather to celebrate and share the joy of the Christmas season. For many, it is a time for relaxation, reflection, and cherished moments with loved ones. However, for first responders— firefighters, police officers, and emergency personnel—the holidays often mean continued vigilance and service.

Donating to the Horseshoe Bay First Responders Christmas “Thank You” Campaign is a great way to spread Christmas joy. Please drop off a check made payable to Bayside Fresh Market or cash at City Hall by December 17th. The money collected will be divided between all city First Responders in the form of Bayside Fresh Market gift cards. If you have any questions or would like to donate another way, contact either Scott Matthews at jscottmatt1@gmail.com or Lee Peterson at leepeterson8@yahoo.com.

This Christmas, take a moment to recognize the men and women who keep our communities safe. Thank you.
