World Alzheimer's Month

World Alzheimer’s Day is on 21 September every year. This year’s theme, ‘Know Dementia, Know Alzheimer’s,’ continues on from the 2021 campaign, which focused on diagnosis, the warning signs of dementia, the continued effect of COVID-19 on the global dementia community and more. In 2022, the campaign will have a special focus on post-diagnostic support.

CEVS bring researchers together with patients, community members, and health care stakeholders to actively participate in cross-talk. Systems for Action: Systems and Services Research to Build a Culture of Health

Systems for Action (S4A) is a signature research program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) that helps to build the evidence base for a Culture of Health by rigorously testing new ways of connecting the nation’s fragmented medical, social, and public health systems. S4A studies a variety of novel approaches for aligning systems, using rigorous scientific methods to determine their impact on health and health equity. This 2022 call for proposals (CFP) will provide funding for a new cohort of research studies to produce new, actionable evidence about how to help medical, social, and public health systems collaborate to address structural barriers to health and health equity, including racism and the social conditions that impact health.

The application deadline is October 5, 2022 at 3pm ET.

Community Resources

New Jersey COVID-19 Information Hub: The State of New Jersey has put together a list of resources about the COVID-19 virus including testing sites, signs and symptoms, and FAQs about social services.

You can find community-based and local COVID-19 testing site locations and hours here.

Middlesex County residents can register for a free COVID-19 test at sites throughout the county. Appointments required. The sites provide saliva-based test kits developed at Rutgers University.

Visit New Jersey’s COVID-19 Vaccine Registration site to pre-register for the vaccine. New Jersey's Covid-19 Vaccine Appointment Call Center can be reached at 855-568-0545.
