Juneteenth

Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and recognizes the day when news of the Emancipation Proclamation reached Texas in 1865, two and a half years after it was initially issued. Rutgers Today asked President Jonathan Holloway and faculty across the university why it's important to mark this day and what are appropriate ways to honor the holiday that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States.

Men's Health Month


On average, men in the United States have a life expectancy that is nearly six years shorter than women. Moreover, non-Hispanic Black and American Indian/Alaska Native men have a lower life expectancy compared to non-Hispanic white men. During June, Men's Health Month seeks to promote the empowerment of boys and men to actively prioritize their overall well-being through adopting healthy lifestyle choices.


The HHS Office of Minority Health encourages everyone to advance Better Health Through Better Understanding. Learn what role they play in advancing health equity for racial and ethnic minority boys and men.

Behind the Research: Heather Howard Seeks Health Equity


Heather Howard arrived at Princeton with an unusual amount of hands-on policy experience. She earned a law degree from New York University and spent much of her career as a policy adviser at both the federal and state level, holding positions with first lady Hillary Clinton and former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine.

Community-Engaged Undergraduate Scholars


During the winter break, between the 2022-23 academic year semesters, the Office of the Dean of the College's Program for Community-Engaged Scholarship (ProCES) partnered with the New Jersey Alliance for Clinical and Translational Science (NJ ACTS) on an NIH grant-funded opportunity that connected five Princeton students with four community partners leading public health research projects.
