World Immunization Week

The World Health Organization (WHO) sponsors World Immunization Week from April 24 to 30 to promote vaccination to protect people of all ages from serious diseases. The MyHealthfinder resources on vaccines encourage people to stay on top of their vaccinations. 

Rutgers Experts Addresses Questions on COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout and Variant Issues

As eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccines expands nationwide, Stanley H. Weiss, an epidemiologist in infectious and chronic diseases, and a professor at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and the Rutgers School of Public Health, talks about vaccine side effects, the hesitancy that still exists and why it is important to get vaccinated when it’s your turn.

Funding Opportunities
South Jersey Institute for Population Health

SJIPH is pleased to announce its Call for Proposals for its inaugural funding initiative for 2021 for collaborations between Rowan University, Rutgers University-Camden, and community-based organizations in Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Cumberland, Salem, Atlantic and Cape May Counties. This funding cycle has two goals: 1) advance research and improve health outcomes in southern New Jersey and 2) serve as a foundation for establishing a data hub for research and projects that advance our region. Prospective grantees first submit a brief letter of intent (LOI) by May 31, 2021. Learn more here.

New Jersey COVID-19 Information Hub: The State of New Jersey has put together a list of resources about the COVID-19 virus including testing sites, signs and symptoms, and FAQs about social services. 

You can find community-based and local COVID-19 testing site locations and hours here.

Middlesex County residents can register for a free COVID-19 test at sites throughout the county. Appointments required. The sites provide saliva-based test kits developed at Rutgers University.
