2022 PIAP Grant Program Application Is Now Open!

PIAP grants are one-year competitive awards to facilitate collaborations between academic researchers from Rutgers University, Princeton University, and/or New Jersey Institute of Technology with community organizations so they can work together on health research that benefits our communities. 

Deadlines:
November 15, 2021 – Letter of Intent Due

Health Literacy Month

Health Literacy Month is a time of international observance when hospitals, health centers, literacy programs, libraries, social service agencies, businesses, professional associations, govern­ment agencies, consumer alliances, and many other groups can work collaboratively to integrate and expand the mission of health literacy.

Down Syndrome Awareness Month

October is a month to raise awareness and celebrate the many abilities of our loved ones with Down Syndrome. DSAM seeks to break down barriers and focus on promoting advocacy for people with Down syndrome. 

Newark boosted the share of vaccinated young people from 30% in July to 55% in September. 

Upcoming Events
During the month of October, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School will host a Virtual Wellness Fair which will include webinars, events, and resources to promote wellness. The goal is to encourage our faculty, staff, and learners to adopt strategies for improved mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing inside and outside of the workplace.

RADx-UP Grants

To further support communities across the nation who are confronting COVID-19, the RADx-UP Coordination and Data Collection Center (CDCC) is soliciting applications for two kinds of awards. Applications will be reviewed 2-3 times each year. Learn more here.

New Jersey COVID-19 Information Hub: The State of New Jersey has put together a list of resources about the COVID-19 virus including testing sites, signs and symptoms, and FAQs about social services. 

You can find community-based and local COVID-19 testing site locations and hours here.

Middlesex County residents can register for a free COVID-19 test at sites throughout the county. Appointments required. The sites provide saliva-based test kits developed at Rutgers University.

Visit New Jersey’s COVID-19 Vaccine Registration site to pre-register for the vaccine. New Jersey's Covid-19 Vaccine Appointment Call Center can be reached at 855-568-0545.
