The Civilian is a new, open-access journal making research more accessible by offering research publications written at a 10th-grade reading level and in multiple languages. 

Working with researchers around the world, it's run by Ashley Moses, a Neurosciences PhD student at Stanford University.

Policy Research on Immigrant Families and Children 

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's new call for proposals seeks to fund research investigating how our policies can ensure equal access to and use of a wide range of services by immigrants and their families, including:

• education
• healthcare
• social services and safety net programs
• affordable housing
• civic engagement
• legal and financial services.  

Up to $1.5 million will be awarded, for up to 6 grants

Grants are typically funded for 12-36 months
