The Costs of Climate Change

April 25, 6:30pm ET

The Environmental Stewards program at Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station is hosting this webinar as part of its Earth Day, Every Day Webinar Series. Climate scientist Robert Kopp, professor and co-director of the university’s Office of Climate Action, will lead a discussion about what we know about climate change’s economic costs and how we can manage the risks climate change is creating.
Climate Change and Mental Health

April 28, 12pm ET

The Center for Public Health Workforce Development at the Rutgers School of Public Health is hosting this seminar. Focusing on survey data and experiences pertaining to Superstorm Sandy, the presenters will discuss interconnected relationships among mental, physical, and community health, how each is affected by climate change, and ways to be environmental justice advocates in your community.
Funding Opportunities
Community Health Worker Training Program (CHWTP)

The CHWTP is a new multiyear program focused on education and on-the-job training to build the pipeline of CHWs. This program will support experiential training and employment through registered apprenticeships and job placements. The CHWTP aims to increase access to care, improve public health emergency response, and address the public health needs of underserved communities.

The application deadline is June 14, 2022.

New Jersey COVID-19 Information Hub: The State of New Jersey has put together a list of resources about the COVID-19 virus including testing sites, signs and symptoms, and FAQs about social services. 

You can find community-based and local COVID-19 testing site locations and hours here.

Middlesex County residents can register for a free COVID-19 test at sites throughout the county. Appointments required. The sites provide saliva-based test kits developed at Rutgers University.

Visit New Jersey’s COVID-19 Vaccine Registration site to pre-register for the vaccine. New Jersey's Covid-19 Vaccine Appointment Call Center can be reached at 855-568-0545.
