Health and Safety Update: COVID-19 Cases
Between November 29 and December 3, there were 10 new COVID-19 cases in the Brunswick School Department.
School officials have been in contact with the Maine DOE/CDC, and those impacted have been contacted. Cumulative statistics on all COVID-19 cases during the 2021-22 school year are available on the COVID-19 Dashboard.
COVID-19 Home Tests
Please remember that home-based COVID-19 tests are designed for surveillance in the home, not the school setting. Home test information cannot be used by the school department because the test is not verified by a laboratory, is not reported to the Maine CDC, will not result in a confirmed or probable case, and is not tracked or used to trace close contacts in our schools. Brunswick School Department is not able to accept the results of a home test for a student to return to school. This is in line with the Maine CDC/DOE Standard Operating Procedures.

Please join the U.S. Department of Education and National Association for Family, School and Community Engagement for an informational webinar following the approval of the Pfizer-BioNTech age 5-11 vaccine.

This is a such special time of year, and this year, we all have one more thing to be grateful for: Kids ages 5 to 11 are now eligible to get vaccinated. The vaccine is safe and effective, specifically formulated for young kids. And getting your child vaccinated is the best way to keep them safe from COVID, including the Delta variant. This is great news for parents and families.

During the webinar, esteemed panelists including United States Deputy Secretary of Education Cindy Marten along with representatives from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Academy of Pediatrics will address common concerns and worries among parents and families about the COVID-19 vaccine for their child(ren) ages 5-11.

Parents are invited to submit questions about the vaccine on the registration form. Pre-submitted questions will help plan the content of the session. Time will also be reserved for live questions and answers at the end of the event.


After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

What do you like to do outside of work for fun?
I have a lovely garden where I grow lots of medicinal herbs and flowers to make herbal medicines and body products. I love swimming in both fresh and salty bodies of water, campfires, spending time in nature, cooking, and mushroom foraging.

Minutes & Agendas for
Brunswick School Board Meetings
Having trouble finding where to access minutes and agendas for current meetings? The Brunswick School Board is now using BoardDocs, a web-based, paperless solution for all School Board meetings. BoardDocs can be found on the BSD website or by clicking here. School Board meetings starting with August 2021 are now available to view in BoardDocs.

Once in BoardDocs:
  • Current meetings will appear under the 'meetings' section on the home screen.
  • Click on the meeting you would like to access information for.
  • Click view the agenda to view the agenda or click view minutes to view minutes for that meeting. If view minutes is not available as an option, the minutes for that meeting have not been added or released to the public yet.
  • Current meetings will be featured for one month. To view meetings outside of the current month, click the + on the left side of the screen next to 2021. A new dropdown menu will appear of older meetings.

Where to find the Zoom link to a meeting:
  • If a meeting is using zoom, the zoom link can be found at the top of the agenda.

Attachments:
  • If your meeting has attachments, they will be available to view within the agenda section it relates to.

If you would like to print an agenda:
  • Click on the meeting you would like to print the agenda for.
  • Click print agenda - you will have the option to print a simple agenda, a detailed agenda or a specific agenda item.
