The soccer field will be aerated and top dressed Wednesday. Please do not use the soccer field until at least Saturday, if not longer to allow for the treatment to take hold.

The firebreak will be mowed Tuesday. This is mowed quarterly/as-needed.

It is wasp season! If you see an active nest, please report it. If it is during business hours, please stop by the office so it can be taken care of right then.

The Pavilion sconces have received some damage due to things being tied to them. Please leave the pavilion as you found it if not better. Do not tie or tape things to the sconces, tables, benches, etc. Painter's tape is usually ok, but must be removed. If your gathering produced a lot of trash, we ask you take it home with you. The dumpster is for Association use only and there are fines through Al Clawson should residential trash find it's way in. Fines and damages are paid for by your assessments. Let's keep costs low so the assessments can be used as efficiently as possible.

Time to Spruce Up Your Home!

Introducing the new Landscaping page on EmoryCrossing.com!

This page is being developed to help residents with useful tips, tricks, and proper landscaping methods for keeping your lawn and plants looking their best.

Currently, it contains the Landscaping Tips & Tricks newsletter, Sunscape's Quarterly Sun newsletter, and Wildfire Mitigation. There's a lot more to come!

The next community standards drive is scheduled for the week of April 14th.

Gearing Up For Pool Season

The official pool season is May 1st through September 30th, 5 am to 10 pm. Every year, management will speak with the Board to see if the season can be extended. At this time, it is tentative due to repairs being performed on the pool deck. Keep a watch out for a possible early opening. The vendors and management are hoping to make it happen!

Please review the rules for the pool and the amenity center before you make plans. Also, check the weather! If there is lightning nearby, the pool will not be open until it is safe.

Fourth Supplement to the Community Manual

aka Pool and Amenity Rules

There will be a lost and found box inside the pool area this year. This box will be emptied every week, so if you forget your belongings, please retrieve them ASAP. Remember, the Association is not responsible for lost or damaged items you bring into the pool. As a courtesy, expensive looking items, such as electronics will be held inside the office for a reasonable amount of time before they are donated.

Pavilions are first come, first serve. Please be respectful of fellow residents who also want to enjoy the amenities. Keep your gathering to a reasonable amount of time. Remember guest limits are 6 per household, per day at the Amenity Center and in the Pool.

Let us know you are coming so we are prepared.

The vendor is working on a fun surprise for the parents. Kids get the candy and treats, parents get the prizes. See you tomorrow!

This event will be packed with important information on how to care for your landscaping. As an added bonus, we will be doing another Plant Bar. The bar will begin after the presentation and Q&A. So, bring your questions! We can't wait to see everyone.

The Plant Bar is first come, first serve. We will not open the bar before the Q&A session has been completed. We request one plant per person so as many residents can enjoy the event.

The presentation is about 30 minutes to an hour depending on how many questions are asked. This event is geared towards adults, however kids are always welcome.

Snake Safety

They may look scary, but snakes aren't bad. They won't hurt you unless they feel there is no other choice. You are not their prey. Snakes serve an important part in our ecosystem - yep, even rattlesnakes! Please do your part to learn about being safe around snakes if you encounter one. They will not chase you. Back away from it and find another route. If they are at your home, spray them with a hose. They will move on.

Did you know.....?

Too much impervious cover can create stormwater issues. It can also lead to soil compacting, which will in turn affect your foundation.

Xeriscaping with gravel/rocks or cacti is limited to 30% in the front yard and 10% in the back yard. Unless it is mentioned in the PreApproved Modifications, Architectural Approval is required.

Our Enforcement Policy:

Courtesy Notice

Notice of Violation

Notice of Fine in the amount of $25

Notice of Recurring Fine from $50 to $125

Our documents do not state a cure period, however we generally use 10 days between each stage. There is a 6-month cure period for the entire violation. This means, if you received a notice on [January 1st], 6 months after the last notice, it would reset back to a Courtesy Notice.

For detailed information, here is the Quick Doc located on EmoryCrossing.com.

How are notices sent?

The notices are sent up to three ways: email, USPS, and certified mail.

Once our system states the mail house has mailed the letter, it is considered received. While we can't control the postal service, we do our best to make sure information gets to you. This is why having a good email address on file with the Association is important.

Note: if you are signed up for this newsletter, that does not mean your email is on your homeowner file. These are two separate systems that do not speak to each other.

Keep rocks weed free.

Plant Native! See City of Hutto's UDC plant list for ideas. Remember to check the Pre-Approved Modifications before planting. Some things have to be submitted.
