Events

October 7th: This Tuesday!

Annual Party/National Night Out from 5-7pm

You will not want to miss this event! It will be bigger and better than last year. Lots of raffle prizes from local businesses, pumpkin painting, face painting, photobooth, games, and a food truck! The Hutto Police and Fire Departments will visit, but they just put us on a schedule for visits around town, so unsure of the exact time.

PARENTS: I got word that the pumpkin painting will involve acrylic paint. Make sure kiddos aren't wearing their "Sunday best". There will be disposable smocks available. Acrylic paint does not come out of clothing. We will paint on a tarp to make sure none gets on the concrete or playground, either.

Unfortunately, Temple College informed the office earlier this week that the STEM trailer was not available. We will try to plan an event with this amazing activity next year. On the bright side, we had a surprise confirmation from State Trooper Esparza who is the K9 handler to Fili! Fili is a beautiful Belgian Malinois serving the State of Texas with pride.

October 15th - Annual Meeting 5-6:30pm

We get it, meetings can be boring. But, this year, we hope to pique your interest with important announcements. Please join us online. The Condo meeting will be at 5 pm and the Master meeting will be at 5:30 pm. More information is posted on our Annual Meeting page, as well as in the bulletin board, and was sent to homeowners yesterday. The budget won't be approved before the meeting, but we will have some general numbers for the membership.

October 18th - Fall Fest 11-1pm

UT isn't playing until 5pm, so you have plenty of time to have fun with your neighbors. A&M hasn't announced the time of their game just yet, but we hope it won't interfere. What NFL or College team do you root for?

Get ready to rock with Blevins! Click the image below to preview some of their music. They perform a variety of genres.

Resident Survey

The survey will be open until October 9th.

As noted above, you may always reach out to the office with your thoughts. Communication is key.

Aster - Weed

Aster is popping up everywhere right now. This woody stem weed can spread quickly. Treat with a broadleaf herbicide during the growing season (post-emergent) and a pre-emergent like Gallery to help prevent germination in the Spring.

Pulling this weed is the most effective treatment. The weed has a tap root. Soak the ground well, then gently pull the clump.

Aerating and fertilizing your lawn, keeping it healthy is the best preventative for weeds in general.

Info on other types of weeds...

Time to check your trees. If they are leaning or do not look alive, they most likely need a tree doctor (arborist) to take a look. If your tree needs to be replaced, that will need to take place in September - November to give the tree the best chance against our harsh summers. Most likely, you received a notice this week if your tree does not look healthy.

Replanting the same type of tree does not require an architectural request. However, if you want to change the type of tree, please see the Native Tall Tree list on the City of Hutto's UDC and submit an application for your tree of choice. A truncated document can be found on the Document Library of our website.

If your trees are over 2 years old, please remove the stakes. This helps promote a healthy root system. It also prevents the trunk from being damaged by the tie down.
