Resident Requests and Concerns
Each week, there are typically a handful of requests made by community members. These are your friends and neighbors asking for changes within the community so Emory Crossing can continue to be an amazing place to live and play.
The Association does not want Compliance to be the focal point of what we do, but when you bought or rented your home, you agreed to these CCRs/Documents. So, lets spin the atmosphere from Compliance to Community. Everyone doing their part to keep their property in good condition benefits the entire neighborhood. It also takes some work off the Association. Compliance drives can take a long time if there is a lot going on in terms of violations.
Most of the resident requests are based on behaviors that create unsafe situations.
Lawn Care - your weeds become other's weeds. Thanks Hutto Wind. Treat your yard with pre- and post-emergents. Mow and edge your lawn regularly. Tall grass invites critters like rats and snakes.
Trash cans -- I know it seems like no big deal to some, but for others, it makes it difficult to get down the alleyway and narrow streets, into driveways, or it just looks bad being on the curb when it isn't trash day. This is actually a city ordinance, too. Put your can away after trash pickup.
Speaking of alleyways, the directional signs and arrows were updated recently. This was after listening to resident suggestions, driving the neighborhood a variety of ways, and considering the future FM 1660 entrance. While the directions will not be perfect for everyone, there was a lot of time and thought put into this project to make sure it would alleviate heavy traffic areas and created the fastest and safest way into the neighborhood. Please drive the correct way in the alleys. This is for the safety of our neighbors and the children walking through. Driving on neighbor's grass or rocks is damaging their property. The alleys are too narrow for 2-way traffic.
Let's be respectful to everyone.
Emory Crossing Blvd - The office knows that GoogleMaps says the speed limit is 60. I have been trying to fix this for over a year. You can help by reporting the error to Google, too. The posted speed limit is 30. Remember, the school buses have multiple stops within Emory Crossing. This means kids are walking throughout the area. Slow down. You are not saving any real time by speeding within the neighborhood. MythBusters proved this long ago.
Close Patrols are requested regularly, but the police cannot be here all the time.
