National School Psychology Week

Brunswick Community Education Foundation
Thank you to the Brunswick Community Education Foundation!

BCEF granted Kate Furbish School with balance bikes and helmets for our Physical Education program. As a result, every student in grades K-2 were able to have three weeks of bike riding and bike safety lessons.

Mrs. Peck-Moad (Physical Education teacher at KFS) said, "We didn't even let an early Maine Nor'Easter slow us down! We just moved our obstacle course inside."

TEAN Winter Clothing Drive
The Emergency Action Network (TEAN) was founded in the summer of 2016 to work to alleviate the aggravations of poverty for children and families in Brunswick. In 2018, TEAN became a 501(c)3 organization. Since then it has greatly expanded its scope from collecting material items to also collecting financial donations.

They are looking for your assistance in the form of winter gear! Drop off your new and gently used items between November 8-15 to the back parking lot of the Hawthorne Building. Located at 46 Federal Street, Brunswick.

Lori grew up in Cumberland and is currently a resident of Yarmouth. She graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management.

What makes you proud to work in Brunswick? #BSDProud
I haven't been in Brunswick that long but I am excited to work in such a caring and friendly community.

What do you like to do outside of work for fun?
I enjoy hiking with my dad - we pick a new mountain every time we go. Fun to see the running list of all the different mountains we've hiked within New England. We are now starting to plan a hiking trip to Utah! I also enjoy fishing, kayaking, camping, and attending live sporting events.

Favorite line from a movie?
"You're killing me, smalls!" - The Sandlot

If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?
I would love to see and chat my grandparents again - get to hear some more of their life stories.

What is something you learned in the last week?
My brother is starting to teach me the game of golf. I might be terrible at it now, but let's see how I do next summer.
