School Lunch Benefit Application Deadline
The deadline to complete the school lunch application is today - Friday, October 15, 2021. Any family can participate in school meal programs at no cost, the family income data provided by completing the application informs key funding for academic resources that directly impact students in Brunswick. As a parent or caregiver, this application is one way you can invest in your student’s education.

Snow Day Notifications
We will be returning to traditional snow days this school year. This decision has been made because students are in-person 100% of the time and not experiencing the inconsistencies in instruction that occurred last year. In addition, remote learning days may be considered if the district exceeds the five snow days built into the school calendar.

If inclement weather is forecasted, we will strive to decide and notify families the day before a cancellation. We will also notify families the morning of a cancellation via telephone, text message, and email (if you do not currently receive notifications, please get in touch with your student’s building secretary to update your contact preferences).

We will post notifications via radio (99.5 WCME) and television (WCSH 6, WMTW 8, and WGME 13) outlets.

Parents, Staff, and Students may also use the following social media sites for up to date information:

Other Closures and Cancellations
If concerns develop during the school day about the ability to travel safely in the afternoon or evening, after school activities will be canceled. This will include clubs, performances, practices, competitions, and meetings. If an emergency condition arises during the school day (such as no heat, water, or electricity in a building), there may be an early dismissal and closure.

Brunswick School Department will always do its best to make the right call. However, please know we understand that it is always the parent/guardian who makes the final decisions regarding the safety of their student(s). Therefore, if there is ever a circumstance where school has not been canceled or delayed, yet you feel it is best to keep your child home because of road conditions, we respect your decision to do so.
Kent Spaulding
Schooltles Award Recipient
Congratulations to Kent Spaulding, the next Schooltles Award recipient!

Kent was nominated by two different coworkers for this award. Kent has been covering for other bus drivers during mid-day assignments as well as training other drivers to help cover the mid-day assignment duties. Thank you for helping the Transportation Department continue to run smoothly!

Kent also went above and beyond during a bus breakdown while trying to get a bus back to the garage. He allowed the other driver to stop at his home, get five gallons of hot water to fill the radiator enough for the bus to make it back to the garage safely.

Great teamwork, Kent! Congratulations on being a Schooltles Award recipient. #TeamBrunswickME #BusDriverAward
