Happy Friday!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Spring Break! It's been a great few days back as we started the last two months of the school year. Time has been flying!
Many of our students will resume CMAS assessments next week, and we are grateful for your support in getting students here on time, well-rested, and ready to show what they know.
As a reminder, we only have two early release dates left (in addition to the last day of school). Please make sure you have April 15 and April 29 on your calendar for Early Release.
We are very excited about our upcoming Spring Carnival, what we affectionately call Bones & Tones, on April 23rd. This is one of our favorite community events where PTA puts out carnival games, bouncy houses, fun music, and food for purchase as we mingle, have fun, and raise money for the school. We have not been able to host Bones & Tones for the past two years due to COVID, so we know this year will be extra special. And after all of our growth the past few years, it will also be our biggest ever!
Our largest fundraiser of the year is still underway, and we still need your support as we try to reach our goal of providing a full time art teacher next year. Please be sure to spread the word about the online fundraiser!
Families: we have seen some families stopping in the middle of the street to drop students off in the morning. PLEASE DO NOT STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET TO DROP OFF CHILDREN. This is not safe and can put your little ones in danger. Please help us by parking or stopping somewhere else so that cars can continue driving through.

Chopper Topper - if your 1st-4th Grade child has not had a dental exam recently, please send your form back on Monday so they can receive a FREE screening and sealant (if needed). This is particularly valuable for our families who may not have dental insurance. Please take advantage of this! Screenings take place April 11.

Field Day - Make sure you save the dates of May 3rd (K-3) and May 4th (ECE, 4/5)! PTA is providing a FREE t-shirt for all students this year, your child's teacher may be in touch to collect your child's size.

¡Espero que todos hayan tenido unas maravillosas vacaciones de primavera! Han sido unos días fantásticos cuando comenzamos los últimos dos meses del año escolar. ¡El tiempo ha estado volando!
Muchos de nuestros estudiantes reanudarán las evaluaciones CMAS la próxima semana y estamos agradecidos por su apoyo para que los estudiantes lleguen a tiempo, bien descansados y listos para demostrar lo que saben.
Como recordatorio, solo nos quedan dos fechas de salida temprana además del último día de clases. Asegúrese de tener el 15 y el 29 de abril en su calendario para la Salida Temprana.
Estamos muy entusiasmados con nuestro próximo Carnaval de Primavera, lo que cariñosamente llamamos Bones & Tones, el 23 de abril. Este es uno de nuestros eventos comunitarios favoritos donde la PTA organiza juegos de carnaval, casas inflables, música divertida y comida para comprar mientras nos relacionamos, nos divertimos y recaudamos dinero para la escuela. We host a community event virtually on the second Wednesday of each month to share ideas, hear from experts, and build a community of support for diversity, equity, and inclusion in our schools. Join us for this free monthly event on Wednesday, April 13 at 7:00 p.m. School board member Carrie Olson will be joining us to talk about the current state of DPS. Register here. Learning About Ramadan
Ramadan is considered one of the holiest months of the year for Muslims. In Ramadan, Muslims commemorate the revelation of the Qur’an, and fast from food and drink during the sunlit hours as a means of drawing closer to God and cultivating self-control, gratitude, and compassion for those less fortunate. Ramadan is a month of intense spiritual rejuvenation with a heightened focus on devotion, during which Muslims spend extra time reading the Qur’an and performing special prayers. Those unable to fast, such as pregnant or nursing women, the sick, or elderly people and children, are exempt from fasting.

Chopper Topper at Stedman
Families of 1st-4th Graders:
You will be receiving information home today about an optional free dental screening from KIND (Kids In Need of Dentistry). This program is made free through a grant and Health First Colorado, no money will be collected. Families who are in need of financial assistance for additional dental work will be given information about free follow-up care.
Please be sure to return the form to the school IF you want your child to receive the dental screening. These will take place on April 11 and 12.

COVID Vaccines for Ages 5+
Children age 5 years and older can get a COVID-19 vaccine. Vaccines are the strongest layer of protection we can offer children against COVID-19. This fall, COVID-19 rates have been higher in school-aged children than adults. While fewer children get severely ill with COVID-19 than adults, they still can get sick with the virus and spread it to other people. Some get sick enough to need hospitalization.
