Note From Mr. Atkins
Families,

This unique, wild, and monumental year has come to a close, and I am so proud of our Stedman community. What felt impossible before the year began, was not only completed but CONQUERED by our people. Where we had doubts and fear, the babies in this building led the way. Because of them, we had a terrific year full of growth, fun, and community. I am so grateful for their perseverance and resilience, and I am also grateful for our incredible staff who adapted and showed grit and determination through ever-changing conditions. A special thank you also goes out to our families who showed both grace and trust throughout the year to help us reach our goals and finish the year strong. We are ALL stronger today than we were yesterday!

It was truly special getting to celebrate our students at the Continuation ceremonies this week. The taste of "normalcy" - having people together again - reminded me just how special our community truly is. It makes me excited for what's to come.

As we enter the Summer break, remember to enjoy time and rest with your child(ren). You all deserve it! We've provided some activity and resource ideas below to keep their little minds and bodies active over the break, please be sure to take a look and bookmark those. We hope every student will also take part in our Stedman Summer Challenge by completing time in Lexia and DreamBox to keep their brains fresh and ready for the new year this Fall. But most importantly, I hope you are able to spend quality time with your child(ren) laughing, loving, and reading together. If your time is short, reading is one of the best activities you can do for your child!

We are extremely excited for the new school year and will be working this summer to prepare for an even better year. Please remember that if you are desiring Remote Learning for your child, you must make a selection in Parent Portal by June 4th. Choosing Remote Learning will unenroll you from Stedman and place you with the District for the entire school year. If you have questions about this, please reach out to Ali Larson at alison_larson@dpsk12.org.

If you weren't able to grab your Lost & Found items, Ms. Rhonda will be in the office on Tuesday, June 1st from 10am-2pm and can let you look through the items. This is the LAST chance to check for your items.

We will be sharing class assignments in August and will hold a Teacher Meet & Greet on the playground on August 19th at 3 pm. Mark your calendar! We will continue to send information as needed over the summer (hopefully not too often!).

This is it. We did it. Thank you Stedman family. Keep scrolling for resources and opportunities for the community and access the DPS Summer Resources guide as needed.

Sincerely,

Michael Atkins
Nota del Sr. Atkins

Familias

Atentamente,

Michael Atkins
