Your 3 hours Can Expand their Horizons.

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of others and your community by volunteering at the Key Training Center. Every role, no matter how small, is vital to our mission. Just three hours a week can profoundly benefit individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Join our team, connect with new people, and forge friendships while supporting the Key Training Center’s mission to empower individuals with I/DD to achieve their God-given potential through individualized services that promote growth, choice, and independence—all with kindness, love, dignity, and respect.

Numerous volunteer opportunities await you at the Key Training Center. If you wish to directly share your talents, skills, and experience with adults with I/DD, we offer both day and residential services. For those who enjoy a retail environment, a variety of tasks are available to help raise funds for Key Training Center operations. If you feel passionate about general administrative or office work, we would be grateful for your assistance. Plus, we host year-round fundraisers featuring signature events, where your help is always welcome.

It is essential for our I/DD clients to engage with the community beyond the Key Center staff, as this fosters inclusion, enhances communication skills, and strengthens community connections. By engaging in volunteer relationships, individuals can broaden their social networks, alleviate feelings of isolation, and foster a strong sense of belonging.

Your time will directly make a difference in the lives of individuals with I/DD — and you’ll meet like-minded volunteers who care about our community. Choose a location and shift that aligns with your schedule. You can pick up volunteer applications at any Key Thrift Store in Inverness, Lecanto, Crystal River, or Wildwood. Alternatively, you can apply online at keytrainingcenter.org/volunteer.rFor more information, please contact Dennis Miller at (352) 795-5541, ext. 363, or email grants@keytrainingcenter.org.

The Key Training Center is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that offers social, educational, vocational, and residential services to adults with I/DD in Citrus County.
