The Cherry Mountain Fire Department Auxiliary Club has a few cookbooks left. At $10.00 each the cookbooks have been a great fund raiser for the Auxiliary and all of the recipes in the book were given by members of the community. "Recipes to the Rescue" is the Cherry Mountain Fire Department's first cookbook and we've almost sold out. If you want one, call Karen or any of the auxiliary members.

Greetings!

The Golden Valley Community Club will meet on Monday, August 15 at 7:00 PM at the clubhouse for our regular dinner meeting.

This month's guest speaker will be Jenelle Atiyea from Hospice. Her topic "Life to the Fullest" . Jenelle is the Hospice Community Outreach Liaison. Please take a moment and visit Hospice online. HospiceofRutherford.org. And come out to the club to hear Jenelle Monday night.

May we remind regular guests to bring a dish and a dollar, (or more). First time guests, come on in and be our guest, dinner's on us. Second time guests? There is no second time. Come once you're a guest, come back  you're a member - Tom Melton's rule.

We're going to repeat our guest author spot until we run out of material. And I personally have a lot of material so keep sending your stories! This month I don't have a guest, but I do have an article. Gold in Them Hills ran as a hardcopy newsletter several years ago, for those of you who may have missed it, here 'tis:

 "Gold in Them Hills" .

This month Golden Valley's Facebook page is has 327 "likers". Like us and we'll like you, too. And if you "like" your contractor or beautician, if there's someone or something you want to recommend, by all means write about it on our wall.

I loved it when Guest Author Mickey Brackett sent us a story, and we just love our regular Guest Author Elizabeth Towery. This month we don't have a guest post, so I'm publishing one of my articles. And here, straight from the archives, please find, a older piece, previously published under the title: The Samuel Martin Gold Story.
