Ground Breaking for CPC!

Catholic Charities staff, Tracy Rieger, Roberto Partarrieu, and Erin Gregoria joined other members of the community on April 22 for the Ground Breaking Ceremony of the new building for the Community Partners Campus. The CPC intends to lease space and provide services to Catholic Charities and other tax-exempt organizations at below-market rates, thereby building a community in which charitable, educational, medical, and social services can be more efficiently administered to our local individuals and families in need. Catholic Charities will be working to provide assistance through our community warming center and St. Lawrence Community Services. We are excited to be part of this community collaboration! We look forward to this new space and the ability to collaborate with other local non-profits in providing the best service to those in need!

WARMING CENTER CLOSING FOR THE SEASON ON APRIL 30, 2022

CHECK OUT THE SERVICE NUMBERS THROUGH MARCH 31, 2022

Wausau Warming Center will be closing its doors for the season on April 30, 2022. It has been a busy season this year. From November 1 - March 30 over 163 individuals requested 3,474 nights of service. (We will report the full season service numbers in the next newsletter.) We are very grateful to all of our volunteers who helped us provide service to those experiencing homelessness. We are grateful to all our local donors and businesses that supported us financially. Without their support we could not keep our doors open. Thank you all for partnering with us in this very important community service!

What an Incredible Few Months!

April 27 marked three months since I took over as the Volunteer Coordinator at Catholic Charities, and I want to say THANK YOU for all the staff and volunteers who have helped me start to acclimate to the position! It has inspired and motivated me to learn about all the incredible work our volunteers do, and to see that work in action. There are many exciting projects happening within Catholic Charities, including the expansion of the Sojourner House in Eau Claire, the groundbreaking of new Community Partners Campus in Wausau, and the further assistance to our new Afghan neighbors that have settled in this area that will require volunteers to help make it a success.

I look forward to working with the program leaders in those areas to help recruit the volunteers needed. For our current volunteers, much of the next months will be looking at ways we can make your volunteer experience even better! This will include new opportunities to receive training, expand ways to recognize the work of our volunteers, and increase recruitment so volunteers have more folks to volunteer their time. One request that I have is for you to take our quick and easy volunteer survey which will help us collect input from you on what we can do to enhance your experience. Please click below. Thank you for all you do!
