Main Street Improvements and Citywide Parking Study - Open House on October 5th at ACC Half Moon Room, 5-7pm

Project Main Street – Preliminary Design
The City of Littleton is advancing Project Main Street, the first major phase of implementing the adopted Project Downtown vision. Main Street was identified through the multi-year Project Downtown planning process as the highest-priority major project for Downtown Littleton.
The adopted plan establishes the overall vision for Main Street: an activated, pedestrian-oriented downtown street that supports everyday activity, local businesses and special events while reinforcing Downtown Littleton’s historic character.
Now, the project is moving into Preliminary Design. Rather than creating a new vision for Main Street, this phase will determine how to best implement the adopted concept while addressing aging infrastructure, accessibility, safety, parking and curbside needs, cost, constructability, and long-term maintenance.
As the design advances, the city is seeking community input on the outcomes that matter most including pedestrian experience, business and street activity, trees and landscaping, event flexibility, and Downtown Littleton’s identity and character. This feedback will help guide priorities and investment decisions as the adopted vision moves toward implementation. Information about the upcoming open house and survey can be found below.
For more information about Project Main Street, visit the project website HERE.

Project PARKing - Parking and Curbside Management Strategy
Alongside Project Main Street, the city is also working on Project PARKing, Littleton's Parking and Curbside Management Strategy, to better understand and manage parking and curbside needs across Littleton, with a focus on key commercial areas. The strategy will help the city plan for parking and access during and after the Main Street improvements while also addressing needs along Littleton Boulevard and broader parking trends across the city.
At this point in the study, the project team wants to hear where you have parking concerns or see opportunities downtown, along Littleton Boulevard, and elsewhere in the city. Come to the meeting on Monday October 5th, 5-7 pm at ACC Half Moon Room.

Prince Street Link Project Beginning Soon
Construction on the Prince Street Link project is expected to begin Monday, September 28 and continue through Spring 2027. Please note that timing and traffic control plans are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen conditions. Electronic roadside displays (Variable Message Signs) have been placed in the project area over the past few weeks, advising drivers and pedestrians of future work.
This project will deliver significant safety, accessibility, and multimodal improvements along South Prince Street between West Lake Avenue and West Alamo Avenue. It includes a major reconstruction of the South Prince Street and Church Avenue intersection, an area widely used by residents, visitors, and employees traveling to and from downtown.
Temporary Construction Impacts
While these long‑term improvements will greatly benefit people walking, biking, driving, and accessing transit, we want to be transparent that construction will create temporary changes to traffic and travel patterns this fall and winter. Drivers should anticipate construction activity, lane and intersection modifications, and possible delays along South Prince Street. Because the work overlaps with the busy fall and holiday season, we encourage residents and visitors to plan ahead once construction begins.
Project Benefits and Coordination
The Prince Street Link project is designed to strengthen connections between Downtown Littleton and key destinations, including Arapahoe Community College, the Colorado Center for the Blind, and the RTD Littleton / Downtown Station. Improvements will include reconstructed roadway and sidewalks, wider and more accessible sidewalks where possible, ADA‑compliant curb ramps, bicycle lanes, and upgraded signal equipment that will increase crossing time and enhance pedestrian safety.
The city has worked with the stakeholders listed above to address impacts. A detailed phasing plan will ensure access for pedestrians, RTD, and the traveling public. Detours for pedestrians—including those shared with the Center for the Blind—will be clearly marked throughout construction. In addition, weekly updates will be sent by our Project Manager to project stakeholders to keep them informed about closures and upcoming work.
The city acknowledges how important the timing of this project is to those who depend on Prince Street as an alternative route to and from Santa Fe Drive. We are actively looking for ways to minimize disruption, expediting work where possible and maintaining safe access through the area whenever the construction schedule allows.
