Monsoon Season Arrives
Monsoon season is officially here, starting on June 15 and running until September 30, with storm season peaking from mid-July to mid-August. While monsoons are exciting weather events, and we welcome the rain, it is essential to remember the dangers of flash flooding.
Here are some helpful tips to prepare your home:
- Clean out roof drains or scuppers to prevent rain accumulation on your roof, which could lead to water damage.
- Thin out trees and trim any overgrown vegetation. Heavy rain and strong winds are key characteristics of a monsoon.
- Be prepared with flashlights, batteries, and a first aid kit if the power goes out.
If you are in your car and flash flooding occurs, do not attempt to drive through flooded areas. It only takes two feet of rushing water to wash away most vehicles. For more information, click the link below.

Nearly 1,500 Water Bottles Donated!
It’s the final countdown! There are only 6 days left to donate water bottles to help support St. Vincent de Paul’s 100 Days of Summer. We’ve collected nearly 1,500 water bottles so far, and we cannot thank you enough for your generosity.
The Orchard neighborhood is in the lead with 264 points! Remember, every water bottle counts as one point, and if you donate during the Power Hour from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., it counts as double points! Since the office is closed on Wednesday, Thursday will be an All-Power Hour Day, meaning any bottle you drop off counts as double. The most points earn a $50 gift card and use of the PRCA party trailer, so please bring any donations you can during the final stretch! Every bottle counts.
Thank you to our generous community partners: Parker Law Group, State 48 Roofing, and AAA Landscape, for donating over 600 water bottles to help us give back to the community.

AAA Landscape Update
Flower Beds
Earlier this week, AAA received reports of newly planted flowers that were struggling to survive due to the recent increase in temperatures. The team was attempting to plant new species of flowers to bring more color to the 31 flower beds throughout the community. They will continue to monitor the state of the flowers, and if needed, different flowers will be planted.

Branch and Tree Trimming
Each week AAA's arbor crews are on-site to trim trees throughout the community. Due to the rise in temperatures, branches become more brittle and break more easily, so the crews are trimming more to mitigate the risk of them falling on sidewalks and streets. You may notice a pile of branches that need to be picked up - AAA will swing by and collect them within 1-2 days after trimming.

Progress Update
After a recent tour of the community, AAA has highlighted specific areas below that require attention:
- Thanks to fertilization, the grass at Vineyards Park, Mountain View Park, and Meadow View neighborhood has improved.
- Fertilization was completed in the Willows, along with the repair of an irrigation issue that was caused by a gopher near the view fence.
- The grass continues to look patchy in several areas of the neighborhood, and AAA is continuing to fertilize and resolve irrigation issues to ensure consistent water coverage.
- The Arroyo has several irrigation issues, and the grass will continue to be dry until it can be addressed.
