A Message from the County Administrator
In accordance with O.C.G.A. 48-8-89, the Local Options Sales Tax (LOST) law requires counties and qualified cities receiving general purpose LOST revenue to renegotiate distribution agreements within two years of each decennial census. The County issued a call to commence renegotiations on July 01, 2012. The new certificate of distribution was executed on October 17, 2012 by the Cities of Kingsland, St. Marys and Woodbine, and the County, which shall become effective January 01, 2013.
In other news, the Board of County Commissioners accepted a grant award of $178,386 to participate in the development of the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay Joint Land Use Study (JLUS). This project was supported by a joint resolution of endoresement by the Cities recognizing the vital economic impact the base and mission have on Camden County.
I look forward to working with each of you as we continue to move Camden County forward.
Yours for a better Camden,
Steve L. Howard, CPM, CPPO Count Administrator |
