Your Weekly News from the Collin County Democratic Party
Ann Richards Dinner 2020
This year the Collin County Democratic Party will hold its annual Ann Richards Dinner virtually on Saturday, August 29. From the comfort of your home, you will hear from inspiring speakers. You will also have the chance to bid on fantastic trips and themed baskets during our silent auction, which will be held about a week before the event. When you become a sponsor, in addition to getting recognition through emails, social media, and at the Program, you may even join our sponsor receptions.

Giving awards to our deserving winners is one the best parts of the Ann Richards Dinner. Last week we told you about Chuck Steelman, our 2020 Humanitarian of the Year.

This week we are so proud to announce that the winner of our 2020 Ann Richards Community Partner of the Year is Minnie's Food Pantry in Plano, Texas. Each year, Minnie's provides food assistance to over 5,000 individuals per month. Founded 12 years ago, Minnie's Food Pantry has since provided over 11 Million meals to low income, food-insecure households, with over 1.4 million meals distributed in 2019 alone.

It's easy to be overwhelmed by everything going on right now. We don’t have the answers we need about the pandemic. We alone cannot fund our schools adequately or protect our environment or ban Trump from Twitter. We need places like Minnie's right now because Trump and people like him are running our country, our state, and our county.

But, with your help, we can change that. We can have a county, a state, and a country to be proud of once again. That starts right here, right now, with you. When you support the Ann Richards Dinner, you are supporting Democratic candidates who will kick Trump and his allies out of office. If you haven’t already, get your ticket here and see Minnie’s accept their award.
Collin All Democrats Phone Bank
This Saturday, August 8, the CCDP Coordinated Campaign is proud to be joined by Sharon Hirsch, Democratic Nominee for Texas House District 66, to the Collin All Democrats virtual phone bank!

The CCDP Coordinated Campaign hosts the Collin All Democrats virtual phone bank every weekend. Volunteers socialize, play games, win prizes, and make calls to get out the Democratic vote and turn our County Blue. Join the fun online @ 2 p.m. every Saturday through November!

Each hour you spend at Collin All Dems through August 8 earns you a chance to win two tickets to the Ann Richards Dinner, courtesy of the McKinney Area Democratic Club.

Sign up here to receive the Zoom link:

Phone banking is easy and fun! We give you a script so that all you have to do is fill in the blanks as you talk to voters. And training is available at each event. See you soon!

Special thanks to Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa for energizing volunteers last week.
