Community Partnership in Action: Turning Vehicles into Victory

At the Greater Hayward House of Hope, we often say that God provides in ways we could never orchestrate on our own. Recently, we’ve seen that provision arrive on four wheels.

Two local businesses — Coast to Coast Auto Sales and Kubarek Auction & Estate Services — have partnered together in a creative and generous way to support our ministry.

When Coast to Coast Auto Sales receives vehicles that they choose not to sell on their lot, instead of sending them elsewhere, they donate them to the House of Hope. From there, Kubarek Auction & Estate Services includes the vehicles in their auction lineup and sells them to help the ministry raise funds needed for its’ operation.

The result? Vehicles that might otherwise be overlooked are transformed into vital resources for the ministry.

“I decided to help the House of Hope because of their efforts to help men with addictions. While I was aware of this issue, in general, it was the House of Hope that made me acutely aware”, said Farley. “Because of my personal friendship with one of the House of Hope leaders, I decided this was an organization I wanted to help. I hope other businesses will support this good work.”

Proceeds from these sales help cover day-to-day operational expenses at the House of Hope — utilities, groceries, transportation needs, program materials, and more — allowing us to continue walking alongside men as they pursue freedom from addiction and new life in Christ.

What makes this partnership especially meaningful is that it reflects the heart of our community. These businesses are not just donating items; they are investing in changed lives. Their generosity helps ensure that finances never stand in the way of a man seeking recovery and restoration.

The Kubareks decided to help because of learning about it from the leadership at the House of Hope and they like helping non-profit organizations. They also believe the work being done at the house is very important for the men involved.

Residents in Phase 1 & 2 participate in making goods in the trade skills workshop to learn basic carpentry that will help them develop skills that can help them find employment upon graduating from the program.
