Community Resource Center Annual Gala

Help Bring Us Back Home

Mamaroneck, NY - October 19, 2022: The Community Resource Center (CRC) is pleased to announce the return of its in-person Annual Gala. The Gala will take place on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 6:00pm at the Beach Point Club in Mamaroneck. The gala is dedicated to the CRC’s rebuild as our center was extensively damaged by hurricane Ida and is currently uninhabitable.

This year’s honoree is Rev Tami Burks of St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church, Mamaroneck, NY. St. Thomas continues to provide space to CRC during our displacement due to Hurricane Ida. Jirandy Martinez, the CRC Executive Director stated “This year, we honor Reverend Tami Burks and St. Thomas Episcopal Church for opening their hearts and doors to us when we needed a home. They have been critical partners for the last three years during the pandemic and through the recovery of the Ida flood. As we work to rebuild our Center, we wholeheartedly recognize Rev. Tami and St. Thomas Church for their love and kindness during the most challenging times CRC has faced.”

As CRC grows and responds to the community’s needs in the wake of COVID-19 and Hurricane IDA, funding for the CRC to rebuild the Center is vital. The CRC building at 134 Center Avenue was critical to the organizations mission to empower the community with Education, Opportunity, and Growth! “The proceeds of this year’s gala will be entirely dedicated to funding our rebuild. Our board of directors and rebuild committee have worked tirelessly to get us back to full operations at our center” Carol Pouchie, board chair.

Community Resource Center is a 501 (c)(3) community-based organization founded in 1998 to empower immigrant and low-income families by providing the resources and advocacy to help them become self-reliant and thriving members of the community. Proceeds from this event will support the rebuilding at 134 Center Ave. Thank you for believing in this community and supporting the dream of equity for all.
