Community Resource Sharing Newsletter

Community Connections

On February 4th, we hosted our Community Connections event. This event brings together area organizations to discuss their resources and create connections. We had 28 organizations come to present information on their agency and how it can help those in our community. The room was filled with networking, conversations and a large exchange of flyers and contacts. event served as a reminder of the incredible work being done in our area and the many valuable resources available to those we serve.

My Time with United Way

I have officially been on the job for two months as a Community Prevention coach and time has flown by!

I have been meeting with many different families from different backgrounds and situations. What has always seemed to stay consistent is families come in with stress or tears and are overwhelmed but once assistance is obtained, I see a sigh of relief that makes me feel extremely blessed for the programs and partners available for families needing some assistance.

In the short time that I have been here, I have also had the opportunity to learn new skills, such as navigation and I have also taken on some Industry Navigator duties. I will be available a few hours a week at Camaco and Schuyler Cargill to offer referrals and resources to employees within the production plants.

Working within the community and with clients has always been something I have enjoyed doing and to be honest it doesn't feel like I'm working because I enjoy what I do! Working at United way has definitely been a good move for me, everyone has treated me like family and was very welcoming. I'm glad I am part of the United Way, and I am looking forward to many more projects that I can be part of.

2024-2025 Annual Report Recap

We strive for transparency in our work and thus, are going to be taking some time to recap what was in the CFP Annual Report for 2024-2025. Most agencies create an annual report and it isn't always looked at, yet we want to take the time to celebrate the amazing work we did in the 2024-2025 funding year!

First up, let's talk about the amazing trainings that were held and attended. These included: Youth & Families Thrive Training, NE Community Based Aid & Juvenile Justice presentation on Community Prevention, Green Dot, Child Abuse & Neglect, Bridges Out of Poverty training, Becoming a Licensed Child Care Provider, and more!

PRAPARE Survey

We need your help.

We are partnering with the East Central District Health Department to distribute a brief community survey. The results will help identify factors that impact the health of our community members, often referred to as social determinants of health. These surveys are vital to collect data in our communities.

The survey is available in both English and Spanish. It contains 11 questions and takes approximately 2 minutes to complete.

We ask you distribute the survey to:

  • Those who volunteer within your organization
  • Staff at your organization, if applicable
  • Those served at your organization

These surveys can be completed online by scanning the QR code. You can also print them and get them back to our office by dropping off or mailing to 3214 25th Street.

Food Access Resources

One word that we like to use to describe ourselves is "connectors." We connect people to resources, to help, to others that can help. With the rising food insecurity needs, a food matrix was created that has resources, as well as information regarding 2-1-1 and Find Help to connect participants to the resources they need. Please find these items below.
