Final Week to Apply for the 2024 Upstream and Community Capacity Building (CCB) Funds

In 2024 the Region is investing $2.89M in community-led initiatives that are creating a safer, more inclusive Waterloo Region.


Funding supports projects related to: 

  • Truth and Reconciliation 
  • Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
  • Safety and Wellbeing
  • Creating Systems that Support Everyone 
  • Building Supportive Communities 
  • Equitable Access to Basic Needs 
  • And Much More! 


Applications will be accepted until April 28, 2024 at 11:59 PM.

Public Art Call for Indigenous Artists



The Reconciliation Action Partnership (RAP) invites local artists, graphic designers, and illustrators to create an original full-color digital image, to commemorate both the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation (September 30, 2024) and Indigenous History Month (June 2025).


This artwork will be featured on a GRT bus, external posters, interior bus cards, RAP’s website, and regional and municipal social media platforms Check out the submission requirements and apply by May 5.

Support for Equity Deserving Groups

Working on Food Security Projects

The Waterloo Region Community Garden Network (WRCGN) promotes and sustains community gardens throughout Waterloo Region. WRCGN would like to hear from and support equity-deserving groups who want to lead projects addressing food security and opportunities to grow your own food. WRCGN has access to approved kitchens for cooking, preserving food and building community and hope to be helpful for those who want to grow food.

Celebrate Eid at the Schneider Haus

June 26 

Celebrate the second of two Region of Waterloo Museum Eid Parties on June 26 from 5pm to 8pm at the Schneider Haus. 


This is a free event, all are welcome! Enjoy live spoken word performances and an open mic, henna, face painting, an Oud performance, Dabkeh, sweet treats and more!
