JFS is in need of volunteers who will commit to delivering food pantry items to clients who reside on our campus in Boca Raton on a bi-weekly basis (every other Thursday morning). Volunteers arrive on campus at 8:30 am to meet our food pantry truck in front of the Gould House. Volunteers are then given a list of JFS clients and their apartment numbers, along with a bin full of pre-bagged food packages to deliver to the client's door.

Once Gould House resident deliveries are completed, the volunteers drive over to the Weinberg House

(on the same campus) and make deliveries to the residents there. Start date is April 25th.

More about Toratah
See Yael Speak about the Project

Our own Scott Reiter is teaching a class at the ALEPH Kallah in Baltimore, June 30-July 6. Kallah is a Jewish Renewal gathering filled with study, music, and connection in a warm and welcoming community.

Scott will be teaching together with Yael Kanarek, founder of Toratah, a groundbreaking project that reimagines the Biblical narrative by placing women at the center and introducing men into the domestic sphere through the re-gendering of all characters. The class will study the Creation stories and the weekly Torah portion through this transformative lens, engaging with the sacred text in a way that offers fresh perspectives on gender, power, and spirituality.

Scott has been involved with Toratah for two and a half years on the team translating Toratah into equally innovative English.
