News from the Seed House

We planted multiple rows of salad greens, Swiss chard, kale and lettuce in the north field this week. We continue with succession planting of lettuce and kale in the seedhouse.

The homeschoolers met for week two on May 11. The lesson was on homes and habitats for critters.

Sat. May 14, 9 a.m. Field prep and working in the front field

Sun. May 15, 9 a.m. Compost mixing and field covering.

Tues. May 17, 5:30 - 7 p.m. Crop projects.

Weds. May 18, 3:15 p.m. Compost mixing and field prep. Boots are recommended.


All welcome. No experience necessary. Ideal for community service hours and projects.

Our friends at Clean Ocean Access are looking for Green Team volunteers to help at the for Bowen's Wharf Oyster & Chowder Festival May 21 & 22. COA is incorporating sustainable practices with vendors. Volunteers assist at zero-waste stations to help event goers sort oyster shells, compost, and recycling. Volunteers receive a Green Team t-shirt. Sign up on the COA website.
