Make A Wish, A Picture's Worth, Shoes 4 The Shoeless Join Community Shares Family

As we begin a new fiscal year, Community Shares of Greater Cincinnati is proud to welcome three outstanding nonprofit organizations to our member network and annual fundraising campaign.

Each brings unique and vital services to our community—from granting wishes to children with serious illnesses or disabilities, to preserving personal histories through photography and storytelling, to providing properly fitting, high-quality shoes to students in need. These new members are making a meaningful impact in Greater Cincinnati, and we’re honored to support and amplify their work.

Make-A-Wish® Foundation of Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana

Grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.

A Picture's Worth

2025-2026 Officers Elected

As we begin a new fiscal year, Community Shares of Greater Cincinnati is proud to welcome three outstanding nonprofit organizations to our member network and annual fundraising campaign.

Isabella (Bella) Frueh

Think - IF Consulting, Board President

Isabella (Bella) Frueh, MA (she/her) is a proud, native Cincinnatian, with 17 years of professional history in education, youth services, and nonprofit service, including close to a decade serving on various Governing Boards and Advisory bodies. Bella advocates for re-balancing systems through power-sharing, which is especially important for causes that impact young people in our community. Bella is the Founder/Owner of "Think - IF" Consulting Services, supporting nonprofit clients with strategy build-out and mission alignment; program design and impact evaluation; and grantwriting. Through consulting, Bella works towards community-centered and data-driven problem-solving - especially while lifting up grassroots organizations with strong evidence of impact.

Bella is a current member of NAEYC's National Affiliate Advisory Council; current founding member of the Public Allies Cincinnati Advisory Board; an American Heart Association 2024 Leader of Impact; and a proud graduate of Leadership Council for NonProfits' BOLD cohort (2019), Groundwork Ohio's Leadership & Advocacy Fellowship (2022), and YWCA of Greater Cincinnati's Rising Stars Equity Leadership program (2024).

Most importantly, Bella serves the community coming from a place of humility and learning. She will never shy away from holding herself (and others with particular levels of privilege and power) accountable, and firmly believes we all have different roles to play in dismantling oppressive systems.

Jen Scott

Through her volunteer roles, Jen learned how to use her personal passion to empower a community to make a real difference in the lives of others. She brought this passion to Equality Ohio, a member organization, when she joined the team in 2019 to establish and expand Equality Ohio’s work in the southwest Ohio region and now provides resources to all of Ohio as the Director of Advocacy. Jen serves on the boards of American Atheists as Board Chair, as Director of Compliance and Parade Chair for Cincinnati Pride, and Vice President for the Kentucky Freethought Convention. She also runs Science on Tap Cincinnati, a science education program.

Jen joined the board of Community Shares in 2020 and is looking forward to furthering the mission of Community Shares to build social and economic equity and a healthy environment in Cincinnati and the surrounding region.

With Gratitude and Momentum: A Look Back at 2024–2025

As we close the books on our 2024–2025 fiscal year, Community Shares of Greater Cincinnati extends heartfelt thanks to all who make our mission possible—our donors, member organizations, fiscal sponsorships, workplace partners, and dedicated volunteers.

We began the year facing a deficit and uncertainty about our future, but thanks to your belief in our work, we restructured, persevered, and ended the year with a budgetary surplus in our general operating fund.

Our workplace giving campaign was the most successful in a decade, increasing 5% over the previous year. We expanded support for emerging social justice needs through our Social Justice Incubator, hosted a highly attended Nonprofit Excellence Seminar, assumed responsibilities from the former Community Shares of Northwest Ohio following their closure, partnered with the City of Cincinnati to manage a portion of their grant funding—and accomplished so much more, all because of your unwavering support.

We now enter our 2025–2026 fiscal year in the strongest position we’ve seen in ten years. With renewed energy and your continued partnership, we look forward to building on this momentum to create a more just, equitable, and environmentally healthy region for all—especially by uplifting and leading from the margins.

Thank you for standing with us.
