Community Standard Issue 3
Administration Updat e

On Wednesday evening during the big rainstorm, we hosted our Prospective Student Night at Roosevelt High School.  Despite the weather, many, many families and students showed up to learn more about what we are doing at Roosevelt.  Our parent liaison, Cristine Patlan, planned a celebration of all of the great things happening at Roosevelt.  Our teachers and staff shared what they do with our guests.  Many families left with a very positive view of our educational community. I believe it was a great event for all who attended.

These events require that we think about how we view ourselves.  They help us to reflect and further define who we are.  Our Prospective Student Night has left me realizing that Roosevelt is a truly unique and dynamic learning community.  We have grown to have many strong elements.

·         We have established our International Baccalaureate programming throughout our school.

·         We have rather quickly built a quality arts program which includes music, visual arts, sculpture, dance and theater.

·          We have revamped our athletics programs with greater participation across the board.  Varsity football is back.  Boys’ basketball is winning.  Volleyball, soccer and Badminton are doing very well.  The girls’ swim team is competing in the sectional finals.

·         Students are staying after school to participate in other activities run by the YMCA Beacons.

But what really sets Roosevelt apart is our commitment to welcome and affirm all students. We ensure the success of each student.  We are a school with a heart.  We recognize that education entails developing the whole individual and we strive to do this every day.

Sincerely,

Michael

20 hours of Service
Per year is expected of every student, every year.  If your student needs help figuring out how to get their service hourse, tell them to check in with Ms. Christol in room 100.
Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action).

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
